Panto - would you go?

Just that. Got expensive panto tickets for Saturday. Booked months ago. Kids are 5 and 6 and would love it. They haven’t been before.

But. Aware of risk - worried about possible omnicron and isolating over Xmas. Can’t get booster for another week but have all had Covid in the last 8 weeks. No idea if this helps or not.

No idea yet if it is possible to move the panto tickets until after Xmas - I deliberately booked then for just before Xmas as I thought they atmosphere would be great. However clearly a panto is lots of people packed into a badly ventilated space. Even in masks….

What would you do?

I would go yes.

We can’t just keep cancelling stuff forever.

Lushplease · 13/12/2021 20:19

No I'd not go.

Mumdiva99 · 13/12/2021 20:19

Yes. Similar situation to you. But tickets for Xmas eve. We are going.

BluebellsGreenbells · 13/12/2021 20:21

Do we need these threads asking should I shouldn't I, it's your decision.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 13/12/2021 20:24

We are going on Christmas eve.

headintheproverbial · 13/12/2021 20:24

I'm going.

BakewellGin1 · 13/12/2021 20:25

We went last week and my DS loved it so yes I would.
We sanitised, had face coverings in case things felt a little close for comfort. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will 100% book again for next year.
All vaccinated.

Exactly. Nobody can decide for the OP.

Yes, we're going to Panto on Wednesday.

Refuse to live my life in fear of "what if" re covid.

Anycolourwilldo · 13/12/2021 20:30

We're going. Just getting on with life now.

pinkcattydude · 13/12/2021 20:33

We went the other week and everyone wore a mask etc. However I got pinged on Saturday and my first thoughts was not the panto! Turns out I was exposed when I got my booster jab. My point being go, but take precautions masks and hand cleaning etc you may catch it you may not we can’t put our lives on hold completely.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 13/12/2021 20:34

Yes and we are on sat- can’t wait

Quail15 · 13/12/2021 20:35

I took my 3 year old to a kids theatre show in the West End last week. It was great, she loved it. It was busy and full of young kids having a brilliant time.

Do what feels right for you.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 13/12/2021 20:37

Yes and we are on sat- can’t wait

Comefromaway · 13/12/2021 20:37

Absolutely I would.

Tabbydancer · 13/12/2021 20:39

I am going to cancel. Vulnerable elderly parents and we are staying with them for a week after Christmas.
However you have just had Covid so in your position I would go

BlackCatz · 13/12/2021 20:41

Why does it matter what people on here think?

Pinkfluffyunicornsandrainbows · 13/12/2021 20:42

Yes, going at the weekend. How long can we go on cancelling things and putting ours and our children's lives on hold? It's been long enough.

Proudtocare98542 · 13/12/2021 20:43

Yep, we are on Sunday!

FestiveMelts · 13/12/2021 20:43

Yep, we're going next week. Could catch Covid at any time, might as well enjoy the festivities.

Holothane · 13/12/2021 20:43

Not my thing so wouldn’t go but I’m going to museum next year in London so nothing will stop that trip.
