I don't see how they cannot be related, dh had his Pfizer booster on Thursday AM the same evening he felt cold, headache the usual noted side effects, but he also developed a cough that he still has now. He can barely speak.

I understand that Pfizer doesn't contain a live virus, but it seems very odd that he's only had this constant cough since his booster.

Has anyone else had similar?

Is this a joke?

I also had a roast for dinner last night and now this morning it's raining?! Coincidence or not??

autumnboys · 12/12/2021 07:34

He needs a PCR test.

Don't be a dick. I'm asking if anyone has had a similar side effect.

He could have COVID, he needs to test asap

LagerthaofKattegat · 12/12/2021 07:35

No one I know has had that side effect. Perhaps he just caught a cough/cold.

SpringheelJack · 12/12/2021 07:35

Well, it is cold and flu season - as well as The Other. Get a PCR.

AvocadoAndToast · 12/12/2021 07:36

There are a lot of nasty cough and cold viruses around at the moment and of course the 2 strains of covid. He could easily have picked any of those up. He needs a PCR.

Sarah239 · 12/12/2021 07:37

@autumnboys

He needs a PCR test.
Agreed. My uncle contracted covid the week after his booster. Thought it was an immune response initially, then took a test.

It takes 10-14 days for vaccine to be fully effective so it's possible he was unlucky and caught something in the interim (or could be cold/flu etc). Only way to know is to test.

WildFlowerBees · 12/12/2021 07:38

He's absolutely fine now in himself except for a tickly cough and his voice has almost gone. He felt fine on Thursday prior to his booster. He says it feels as though his throat is closing over. It's not a reported side effect so it would seem.

Just get him to take a PCR test

Banani · 12/12/2021 07:41

He has a covid symptom so needs a PCR test.

Yamaya · 12/12/2021 07:43

I'm sorry, I think I am just getting to the end of my tether of people being quite ridiculous about the vaccines. He probably has just picked up something from somewhere else. My family have all had coughs and colds recently (not covid). Get a PCR

delilahbucket · 12/12/2021 07:43

You can still get Covid at the same time as getting your booster. It isn't a reported side effect because it isn't a side effect. He needs to get a PCR for goodness sake!

ivykaty44 · 12/12/2021 07:44

There are coughs and colds going round

I had my booster on Monday and by Thursday afternoon I’d got a sore throat and heavy cold several lft are all negative

It’s coincidence surely that I got a cough and cold 3 days later

MoggyP · 12/12/2021 07:46

New continuous cough - get a PCR

How on earth are people still missing this message?!?

Tabbacus · 12/12/2021 07:49

If he feels his throat is closing over he should get checked out!

Sparkai · 12/12/2021 07:50

Correlation does not equal causation.

Fgs, unless your husband has been in a sealed box for a fortnight before and since his booster, catching a cough from someone (during cold and flu season) is the most likely cause.

Snowywintersundays123 · 12/12/2021 07:50

Sounds like he’s picked up covid from somewhere… unless he’s been inside the house and isolated since his booster then it’s probably covid. LFT him

SpamIAm · 12/12/2021 07:51

If your vaccination centre is anything like ours then there's probably a high chance he picked something up there 🤢

Signoramarella · 12/12/2021 07:55

Had my booster on 29th Nov. By 5 Dec I was in hospital with covid. I'm a fit healthy 50 year old. Recovering now. It's likely he has covid do pcr now don't delay

Joystir59 · 12/12/2021 07:59

Order packs of seven lateral flow test kits free from the gov here www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

furbabymama87 · 12/12/2021 08:01

My mum had hers the other day and had to take 3 days off work, said she felt like she did when she had covid, and she was bad with that and nearly had to go to hospital.

Kittykat93 · 12/12/2021 08:10

It's December, not really highly unusual to have a cough for heaven's sake! What are you implying? That the jab has made him ill?

WildFlowerBees · 12/12/2021 08:12

LFT is negative, he'll do a PCR also. He's required to test frequently for work. Just seemed like a very unusual side effect.

Its not a side effect! Other viruses are still available, then haven't been wiped put by covid. Currently we have myself and husband coughing our guts up after our daughter came home with a nasty cough but that turned into pneumonia for her. We have had 3 pcr tests each and daily lfts and all negative. Its just a different bug.

You don't get a cough from the jab, so he either has covid or one of the thousands of other bugs that are still in circulation.
