Tested positive on a lateral flow yesterday and getting PCR today. Feel like death. Can't believe I have caught this - I am so careful, mask up everywhere, I work from home and never go anywhere! Possibly it was at my birthday at the weekend. 2 years of hiding away then I get it the one time I go enjoy myself in a group. FFS.

I have it, was due 3rd jab on Tuesday so very annoyed given its now not so rigid with 6m and a day. If changed rules few weeks ago might have had more power fight it.

Having said that not been that bad more like a very bad cold no temp just few sweats in the early hours. Coughing for England though. I think I’m on day 6 lost smell yesterday hard to know what day is classed as over the worse or I’m setting self up for relapse given it’s not been that awful so far

@EmmaOvary I'm ok, I'm second trimester so I'm hoping the antibodies are going to flow through to the baby. No underlying health conditions.

All of the news has worried as I've managed to avoid getting coronavirus since the beginning so I do feel like a sitting duck to death!

But if I just go with how my body is reacting, it's a cold and it's working hard to fight it off.

Costumeidea · 04/12/2021 15:08

Me! Caught it from DD. Coughing and have a constant streaming nose, like someone has turned a tap on. I’ve also sneezed 15 times in a row on a few occasions!

Day 7 since first getting symptoms here.
Last Sat I was still feeling fine around now but then developed a cough, sore throat & headache as the evening progressed and felt worse on the Sunday and spent the day in bed.
Monday I dozed most of the day but didn't feel too bad provided I took paracetamol regularly.
Tuesday I felt brighter and managed a bit of work
Weds, Thurs & Fri I could hardly get out of bed and needed to sit down if I did anything as exciting as go up & down the stairs or bent down to put the washing on
Feeling a bit brighter again today and have managed a few essential bits of housework.

I'm away, and terrified I've got it
I'm scared to get a test locally but scared to fly home too
I don't know what to do Sad

I'm very tired.
Had it confirmed today that mine is Omicorn so the phone has not stopped ringing all day.

LadyCatStark · 04/12/2021 15:28

Yup just tested positive today 😭. So far it feels like a mild cold but I’m already sooooo bored!

Khara · 04/12/2021 16:01

Is it normal not to have heard from t&t at all? I took a PCR on Thursday morning - confirmed positive 12 hours later - and have still heard nothing except for a code to put on the nhs app which is supposed to alert contacts but no online form and no phone calls.

My family (all negative so far) are all still going about their business and we're assuming it's not omicron because we've heard nothing.

Akire · 04/12/2021 16:05

I had my result 10pm last night woke up to a text and two emails from track n trace. I think the code only lets contacts know if you have had bluetooth on everywhere you have been. I put mine in but think mine was off so not waste of time.

It has taken t&t 5 days since my positive result to get in touch with anyone I had contact with.

I located the online form myself to complete.

Khara · 04/12/2021 17:36

Yeah - I don't think the contact tracing app is going to do much as I never have it switched on. The only places I've been in the two days prior to testing positive are work and home, so they all know anyway. I did google the online form but unless I'm missing something it requires a username and password which they're supposed to provide when they first contact you. Only they haven't. The code I got for the app was in the initial "your test was positive" e-Mail and text.

I can only assume it's not omicron, so they're not that bothered.

EmmaOvary · 04/12/2021 19:45

@lebkuchenforxmas that's days 5-8 you had a relapse, someone else mentioned the same thing. Glad you're feeling better now. Hope I escape the relapse thing, I'm on day 4 now...

@EmmaOvary how are you doing? I've woke up pretty symptomless and feeling very well.
Although, I can feel my body has just worked hard to fight it off so I am resting for the next couple of days and then hopefully back to normal.

Let's hope your no relapse!
