Concert at O2

I booked tickets last year to a concert at the O2 which has been rescheduled to Friday. With the new variant, I don't want to go. Do I have any rights regarding getting a refund through the company that I bought the tickets from?

I shouldn’t think so, unless you took out some extra insurance incase you test positive and can’t go. The event is going ahead, so it’s absolutely your choice not to attend.

RoseRedRoseBlue · 01/12/2021 19:55

We are going to be in a self imposed lockdown at this rate.

WheelieBinPrincess · 01/12/2021 19:56

‘Don’t want to go’ is not going to get you a refund, in other words.

KylieKoKo · 01/12/2021 19:56

The entertainment industry has taken enough of a battering with having to refund people who chose not to attend events. Can you not try and sell the tickets to someone?

Katie517 · 01/12/2021 19:58

Why should you be allowed a refund? From an industry that is on its knees just because you have believed some media hype and decided not to go? Either get a grip and live your life or accept that you have lost the money.

MrsFrisbyMouse · 01/12/2021 20:02

No you won't get a refund. But you could try selling the ticket on twickets. (Ethical resell ticket site)

SagittariusDwarf · 01/12/2021 20:10

On what basis do you think you might be entitled to a refund? Hmm

manolantern · 01/12/2021 20:11

Is it "Lost In Music - One Night at the Disco"

or is it "Pete Tong Presents Ibiza Classics" ?

Both sound fun!

manolantern · 01/12/2021 20:14

The Pete Tong one has special guest Ultra Naté!

Well, you've got to live your life, do what you want to do!

Lindy2 · 01/12/2021 20:20

You can ask but I think your only chance of getting some money back is to sell your ticket on if you can.

Having said that my mum had theatre tickets (pantomime - rescheduled from 2020) booked but she doesn't want to go at the moment as a lot of the audience are obviously going to be unmasked children. She rang the theatre to see if there was anything that could be done.

The theatre have been lovely and very accommodating. She's now going to a different, mostly adult audience show in the Spring.

Remmy123 · 01/12/2021 20:31

Why don't you want to go due to a new variant thst is very mild??

dumdedumpop · 01/12/2021 20:37

Nope, all you can do is sell your tickets on. It's going ahead, so there's no reason they'd refund you.

thewhatsit · 01/12/2021 20:38

Wow

I see what you did there Grin

PurpleDaisies · 01/12/2021 20:45

Can’t you sell them on?

User5489205347 · 01/12/2021 20:53

If it is rescheduled and you got it from a primary seller you should be able to get a refund though it is a bit late now, if it was a secondary seller you won't

User5489205347 · 01/12/2021 20:56

All the posters saying you won't get a refund are probably just giving their opinion, I doubt they have checked though as I say it may be too late now if it is Friday

Is this for Pete tomb ?
Groovytiger · 02/12/2021 01:40

Thanks to many of you for your helpful answers. For the likes of @Katie517, I do live my life to the full. However, I was in hospital for a month with Covid and lost a number of good friends and family members due to it, so am being extra cautious as I don't want to ever relive what I lived earlier in the year. I didn't realise there were such bitter people on Mumsnet. Maybe consider being a little bit less judgmental and think about what you write.

I think there are only a handful of people with this new variant so I don't think you would be at particular risk of catching it. It's also supposed to not cause too many problems if you get it, it's just more transmissible. I really doubt you will get a refund on your tickets. You either go or don't go. That is your choice.

I went to this last weekend. Was great.
CloudyStorms · 02/12/2021 06:12

I'd ask but expect a no.

KatherineJaneway · 02/12/2021 07:05

Sell the tickets.

ihatethecold · 02/12/2021 07:05

@Waxonwaxoff0
I’m going on Saturday night.
How strict were the security on see through bags?
I got an email saying only small see through bags are allowed in.
There’s not a chance in hell I’m buying a see through hand bag.

What a waste of money and resources to ask people to do that.
