NHS app - DH told to isolate but I’ve not been told to?

DH got pinged today and told to isolate for eight days.

I didn’t get pinged or notified but opened up my app to check and was told that I have been in close contact with someone who has Covid. I wasn’t told to isolate because I’m fully vaccinated but I’ve been advised to get a PCR test. I’m confused as to why we’ve both been told two different things? On my app it told me that the contact was on the 28th of November but DH wasn’t told when his contact was.

Could it just be that we’ve had different contacts and I’m just assuming it was the same day? We were together all day on the 28th though.

@SummerBluez yes, I was asked when I opened the app if I had had both jabs but he didn’t get any questions. Seems odd?

Maybe, who knows, test and trace may ring your DH to check he is isolating, so he could ask. Is he not double jabbed, is that why he has to isolate?

If he's double vaccinated he would only have to isolate if he'd been in contact with the new variant. I'd tell him to give track and trace a call.

Maybe, who knows, test and trace may ring your DH to check he is isolating, so he could ask. Is he not double jabbed, is that why he has to isolate?

If its the app then Test and Trace will not contact him as its all done anonymously so they won't know he has been pinged

There's a bit in the app that shows when contact was but if he's double vaccinated he can ignore it anyway

There is no way in hell PHE are going to be relying on the app to inform people they’ve been in contact with Omicron!!

The app won't know what variant you have. All that will be input is that there was a positive test

So confusing. We have a toddler and a newborn so desperately don’t want it to be true!

We just left the apps on our phones without thinking about it really. He will isolate, even though my understanding is unless told to by NHS track and trace, he isn’t legally obliged to.

And yes, if it’s omicron it doesn’t matter if you are double jabbed. Just so odd I haven’t been told to.

The app is not linked to anyone's vaccination record or personal details so wouldn't automatically know who is double vaccinated and who isn't.

@PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears I'm sure if he'd been in contact with Omicron he'd have had an urgent call to inform him, not just pinged on the app.

I wouldn't isolate on the say so of the app if double vaccinated

It will be because he needs to update the app. It is still running on the pre August rules. If he deletes it abs reinstalls it it will show the same message as you.

As a previous poster said, he probably needs to update it. If he doesn’t update apps in the background tell him to run an update on it, or delete and reinstall. But he’s double jabbed, he really doesn’t need to isolate.

You won't as T&T won't know about the alert from the app. They would only contact him if given his details from someone who knew him

Yes, for sure, your statement was out of date and incorrect so I thought correcting it would help avoid any confusion.
