Hey guys sorry for the new thread..

On day 6 of covid, pretty much felt the same last few days, started with cold symptoms (runny nose and scratchy throat) then cough, dizziness loss of taste and smell... i have a hoarse voice but clear nose so i know theres inflammation somewhere...

Im really worried its going to get worse and curious to know others experience of covid... if you are going to get bad, do you tend to know by now or?... ive been double vaxxed..

Ive posted recently as im anxious.. i was on a previous thread 'covid moan' but seems to have gone quiet so needed to make my own (i know everyone sick of covid threads sorry)

When I had it in January (pre vaccines) symptoms started with a headache and then I was very tired and achey for around a week. No cough, temperature or loss of taste/smell. I only knew I had it as I needed a test for air travel.

The symptoms seemed more like the omicom ones than alpha/ delta.

Hope you feel better soon. Most people say a week is about the turning point when things start to improve.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 01/12/2021 19:18

I am currently waiting for my 'get out of jail' test.
I stopped having signs last Friday. Before that I had what I would have called a seasonal infection (aka a heavy cold) 2 years ago. Enough to take a couple of days off work and take to my sofa with aspirin, ice cream and a box set but nothing more.

(double vaxxed, about 60 and with an autoimmune desease)

KylieKoKo · 01/12/2021 19:29

I'm on day 2 and slept in til the afternoon. I was coughing a lot yesterday but it seems to have subsided now. I'm mainly feeling tired and like a have a head cold. I can still smell and taste and I'm hoping it stays that way.

Idontevenknow · 01/12/2021 19:37

I am on day 5. Had a slight cold and scratchy throat which I barely noticed, and was gone by yesterday. I would say I have no symptoms now, except for a poor sense of smell compared to usual.

GandTisgoodforme · 01/12/2021 19:44

It started with headache and irritated eyes, then body aches and sneezing.. I'm now on day 7, fuzzy head at the moment but otherwise feel well, have had total loss of smell and taste since day 2 and it's not improved yet.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 01/12/2021 19:47

I’m on day 9 ..yay .. freedom soon
Started with headache , like a vice crushing my head ,
day 3 loss of taste and smell , and sneezing .
day 4 , headache gone so has sneezing but replaced with runny nose , day5 still no taste and smell but the fatigue !! the fatigue , I literally slept all day ,
day 6 and 7 , headache returns , still no taste and smell , still fatigue , day 8 ( yesterday) headache gone , still no taste and smell, starting to get annoyed about this , headache gone still fatigue ,
day 9 today , fatigue subsiding but still there but don’t feel the need to constantly sleep , no headache , loss of taste and smell still
Day 10… comes freedom !! I’ll let you know , but I’m anticipating no taste and smell still

Cheesymonster · 01/12/2021 19:52

I’m on day 8. Started with a slight sore throat then the shivers but no temperature. Slight cough and feeling tight chested and out of breath after slightest exertion. On day 4 I felt better for one day then went massively downhill. Not been able to work (from home) this week. No appetite at all as everything smells and tastes weird. Anxiety is through the fucking roof I just want to turn a corner.

Flowers hoping everyone feels better soon.

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 01/12/2021 19:56

Oh forgot to add , fever , since day 3 , fever on and off every other day day 3 , day 5 , day 7 , day 9 today , a fever . Paracetamol does help

Cheesymonster · 02/12/2021 11:37

So today my appetite is back so I’m trying to eat little and often. I am completely out of breath though and chest is tight. This morning I had blurred vision which came on really suddenly but has gone now.

wheelsfallenoff · 02/12/2021 11:54

Wishing you all better soon 💐

I'm on day 5. Been in bed for 4 days. Worst part for me at the moment is the headache. It makes me feel sick. I've still got a high temp but the chills have gone and my body aches slightly less. I also have no appetite because of loss of taste and smell.

Most people I know have said they started to turn a corner at day 5/6, so I would think if you're this far in OP, it probably won't get much worse for you? Fingers crossed.

ronconcoke · 02/12/2021 12:06

Day 6 here, started with tingling feeling in nose and throat like I was getting a cold, a bit of sneezing, by day 2 sense of taste was on its way out and by day 3 had totally lost taste and smell. Days 2&3 were the worst for me so far, had chills, fever, slight, dry cough, fatigue, muscle aches etc. regular paracetamol helped. By day 4 started to feel better and now feel pretty much back to normal, a bit bunged up still but really missing tasting things!!!

Getting cabin fever now too.

ronconcoke · 02/12/2021 12:07

Ps now I'm in the thick of it and entire family has covid (me, DH and 2 DC) I really don't mind another Covid thread! Vent away Grin

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 02/12/2021 12:10

I started with a headache and achy legs. Felt weird next day can't really explain but tested positive. After that it felt like worst head cold ever. Blocked nose and sinus was the worst thing for me. I tested positive 4th November so I am clear of it now but been sneezing quite a bit. Not meant to test for 3 months now though

junebirthdaygirl · 02/12/2021 12:25

Started with total flat out fatigue..day 1 . Then pains all over feeling miserable lasted till day 5. Cough/ head cold that blocked all my sinuses for about 8 days. No real issue with breathing which was my dread. Didn't lose smell or taste. Was shattered after it with no energy but plenty of rest helped. Advice to me to keep chest open was to move around a good bit and not stay lying down all day although you will want to. I did little exercises to keep chest like that and so breathing was fine.
It will be OK but be patient with yourself as it does take a while to get back to normal for some
people.
Take care and look after yourself.

Cheesymonster · 02/12/2021 15:11

Had to ring GP earlier as short of breath. She was brilliant but worried me a bit as she said it’s normal for covid to get worse on day 10 (I’m day 9). She has given me a salbutamol inhaler and a pulse oxygen reader.

Newbabynewhouse · 03/12/2021 08:51

Thanks everyone..

@Cheesymonster

You sound like me at the moment.. im on day 9 and feel like im getting worse and not better.. 2 days ago i felt like i was better but last night i started coughing more and what seems like cold symptoms have cone back..feel the same this morning too :( im so scared... i feel ok but just worried that getting worse may lead to hospitalisation or worse ..

Cheesymonster · 03/12/2021 09:15

Newbaby I’m sorry to hear that. Are you able to contact your GP surgery and ask for a pulse oximeter and maybe an inhaler? How’s you’re breathing? It feels like someone’s standing on my chest if I try and move around too much. Are you getting enough rest?

Newbabynewhouse · 03/12/2021 09:24

@Cheesymonster

I dont feel like I'd need one right now as i feel able to breathe..i suppose im just worried that it will get to that point where i need to call drs.. its the anxiety of it all i think.. ive been convinced in ny own head since day 1 that it will end up severe so when i felt better on wednesday i felt relief and thought id got away with it, but now symptoms are back im worrying again how are you feeling now xc

Cheesymonster · 03/12/2021 10:42

Anxiety plays a big part for me too. I’m ok just trying to rest as much as possible. I hope you feel better Flowers

TheVampiresWife · 03/12/2021 12:29

First time (March 2020) - came on suddenly while I was sitting on the sofa. Sudden heavy pain in my legs, tinnitus, sore stabbing throat on one side only, fever. Over the next few hours I developed a cough, migraine, severe fatigue, slight loss of taste and smell, sore eyes. Got worse over the next few days, felt better for a couple of days, then it came back and hit me really hard. Was quite unwell for about a week then gradually got better with the occasional relapse. The cough lasted for a few weeks. DH was exactly the same but his loss of taste and smell was profound and lasted for weeks, his cough was much worse and he struggled for breath. At the time our GP was insisting you had to have been to China to have caught covid (even though we told him DD's girlfriend had recently returned from a country which was badly affected and was also ill!). He even asked DH to come into the surgery to be checked over (he was prescribed antibiotics which did fuck all).

Second time (August/September this year, double jabbed) - completely asymptomatic, both of us. I'm CV so it was a huge relief not to get ill at all!

Hope you feel better soon OP Flowers

I'm exactly the same. Tested positive on Monday. Felt like start of cold. Dry nose dry mouth, couple of sneezes here and there and then tiny bit runny nose. My chest was tighter for bit then fine. I'm double jabbed and have asthma. Since Monday I'm pretty much the same except I lost my sense of smell and taste is maybe 50%. I'm worried if it goes really wrong before it's over or of this is how I'm going to live for awhile. Because I had a some symptoms last weekend I'm on my day 7 of isolation. If I didn't test for work I wouldn't think it's covid. It's also my first time.
Riomama · 10/12/2021 11:57

@Newbabynewhouse how are you now?

Verite1 · 10/12/2021 12:01

Cold symptoms, then chills, achey, severe fatigue, dizziness, awful headache and just general feeling of being unwell. Don’t do anything til you completely recover or it may set you back. Headache was worst for me - like being stabbed in the eye.

Verite1 · 10/12/2021 12:02

Oh cough as well

SeedlessEasypeeler · 10/12/2021 12:09

Congested head, runny nose, fatigue, sneezing, and coughing. I am on day 8 and I feel worse today.
