How many people do you know who have had it twice?

I honestly don’t know anyone who has had it once, nevermind twice. I know of people that isolated due to being a contact according to the app but I don’t know anyone that tested positive.

Twice weekly testing was required too

Porcupineintherough · 29/11/2021 10:10

@RattiesAndPiggies where do you live? I am in S Yorkshire and I know about 50 people that have had COVID (4 of those are in Manchester to be fair).

TheVampiresWife · 29/11/2021 10:22

Me and DH. First time was March last year, before testing was available, but there's no doubt that's what it was. Second was end of August, both double jabbed.

In March 2020 we were both quite ill, DH particularly (he was off work for weeks, and he never usually takes time off). In the intervening months I started new RA meds which put me in the CV category, and we were both double jabbed. When we caught it again in August we were both asymptomatic - it was only picked up due to regular LFTs, which we were doing because of my meds. Thank goodness for vaccines!

I’ve had it 3 times and I’m so over it now! Work in care so first time April 2020 then Feb 2021 then lastly Oct 2021.
Just been boosted so hopefully will have a few months off !

ilovebagpuss · 29/11/2021 15:02

For info it went Worst-mild-quite rough

RattiesAndPiggies · 29/11/2021 17:18

@Porcupineintherough
I’m a student based in Derbyshire. Medical based degree though with mandatory testing so I imagine that the sample of people I know is skewed… no one going for nights out, no going out for work etc. In bubbles at uni

gogohm · 29/11/2021 17:20

I don't know anyone myself but I know several who have had mild covid despite vaccination

RattiesAndPiggies · 29/11/2021 17:22

Just to clarify I obviously know it is very much real. I just don’t personally know of anyone that I could speak to to know if it was their 1st/2nd/3rd positive test

NeedAHoliday2021 · 29/11/2021 17:31

I didn’t know many who’d had it at all until August this year so none that have had it twice. I’m in the West Country and our numbers were very low previously so I don’t think I’m a good barometer.

Jenasaurus · 29/11/2021 19:23

I know one person who caught it twice, he was very anxious about catching it and knew in his line of work (Medical) he was likely to be exposed, he was relieved when he got it and recovered, sadly he caught it again and didnt recover.

Porcupineintherough · 29/11/2021 20:32

@RattiesAndPiggies honestly I'm a little jealous. Weve got 4 down at our office just this week (inopportune team meeting).

Dangermouse80 · 29/11/2021 20:40

Me twice both mild.

Billi77 · 29/11/2021 23:32

Same. Twice. Second time picked up on LFT and practically asymptomatic. First time like a bad flu.
