How does this make sense?

We have to mask up on public transport and shops... but you can go into a nightclub where people are hugging/mingling more and you don't have to wear one?

WHERE IS THE LOGIC?

Anyone else fed up of all coronavirus crap? Let us live, the death toll isn't correct. Whose to say those people didn't test positive but yet died of cancer? Or got hit by a bus or whatever?

And how does having a vaccine protect others? When you can still catch covid and pass it on?

None of it makes any sense.

No doubt this will get deleted too but my post basically said pharmaceutical companies have legal protection from being sued over covid vaccine injury. As far as I am aware this is still the case.

I think "they" still dont really think masks help. Remember for ages we were told (when govt couldn't get hold of PPE) that they do more harm than good if not used in a medical setting/not worn correctly/changed regularly etc?

This.new mask decree is to be seen to be doing "something" but I don't think the powers that be agree on whether it helps.

Or, all the measures are to reduce/slow the spread. They were never intended to eliminate it, so they put in the least difficult measures first.

You've got it the wrong way around. Masks do help, significantly. Especially the 'proper' FFP2/3 ones. They initially said they didn't because they had a PPE shortage for NHS staff and didn't want random people buying up all the masks. There was a lockdown anyway so people shouldn't been out and about much, and the priority was to protect medical staff.

What was the fact?

I didn't think nightclubs were a thing anymore. There were 5 in this town when I was young. There's one tiny one now. I used to go twice every weekend. I think 21yo DS1 has been twice in his life.

We're talking relatively small numbers of people (tiny compared to those using shops or public transport) and all the restrictions, are and always have been, about reducing the spread not an attempt to stop it.

@TheCovidScoorge yes, and that's why they are being asked to wear masks on public transport, so that if they DO have covid, they are far less likely to spread it to people who didn't choose to go clubbing!

It doesn’t make sense to me either. Either make masks compulsory everywhere. Especially schools, colleges etc or don’t even bother. I could wear a mask at Asda and then go maskless into a restaurant and infect everyone. Pointless really. Bet they will make masks compulsory again eventually and this is their way of drip feeding it slowly. Surely the government aren’t that dumb.

My understanding is that it's the same as any company. If someone is injured by a vaccine because the pharmaceutical company breached regulations or H&S (say) during its production, then of course they can be sued. If they did everything right but someone is nonetheless injured, there would be no grounds to sue. It's not a big conspiracy, it's just how the law works.

Sressedy the point is that the NHS is able to (just about) cope with the numbers of ill people currently. Without vaccines(and lockdown) it would have been a very different sad story.
