@Grinchtastic

Anyone heard of boosters being given to 39 year olds who turn up, perhaps at the end of the day?

I’m 6 months past my second dose and really really would like a booster...

Have they given 49 year olds early boosters up to now?

I don’t know; that’s why I’m asking. Officially no, but I wonder what’s happening if people turn up.

The online booking system has only allowed over 40 booking for a few hours so over 40s won’t have had their boosters through the system yet. Maybe you could go and try it out first then let others know?

Just booked mine. Picked the earliest date which was about 1 week after I would be eligible for the booster.

Quite a distance to travel to the nearest place though which will be a 45 min car journey each way which is fine but would be difficult if you didn't have a car or flexibility to leave work. It also says the appointment will be 30-45 mins long.

Nothing happens if you 'just turn up' because you have to have booked online and that means meeting the criteria to be able to book. At the moment, they haven't even got the medical recommendation/go ahead to do under 40s 🤷‍♀️

Thank you. All booked in for early January.

Thanks OP Smile
Because of your heads up, I've been able to book DH and me (55 and 49) as we'll both be 6 months+.

Just popping back to say that I took a chance and turned up at my local walk-in clinic on 30 November and got jabbed! I was just short of 6 months but they were jabbing anyone who was 5 months after their second dose, regardless of age.

Hope everyone gets their booster very soon.

We've got no local walk in centres unfortunately. I might find it easier if I could just wake up, go there and get it over with!
