Yesterday my daughter had a VERY faint positive on a lateral flow that came up after 60 mins. Took her for a PCR which was negative (results received this morning). Have done another LFT this morning to double check and there's the faintest line ever. Like an indent on a pregnancy test. I honestly don't think I'd usually see it but I'm being so eagle eyed. It's her birthday and there's so much riding on it I just don't know what to do! LFTs are from different batches!

I can see a faint line, mine looked like that, you literally could only see it with a phone light shining on it and I did another the next day which had a massive red line straight away, and then I got a positive PCR.
Can rearrange everything for the weekend after at all? It was my daughters bday Thursday and we got positive tests Wednesday and she was gutted but I’ve changed everything to next weekend luckily

Ffs. Why are people hunting for it so hard. She had symptoms. You got her tested. It was negative. Why continue to pursue it?

@Didisquat thank you, sorry to hear about your daughter. We've lost holiday money but rearranged everything else for two weeks time x glad you've been able to sort out your daughters birthday-it's so awful for them xx

None of those tests are positive. You had a negative PCR why didnt you just accept it? Do you want to cancel party so looking for an excuse?

PCR is much more accurate and will always show before a lft (no idea where you got the other way round from)

You had no reason to test again.

SarahJeffers341 · 20/11/2021 19:31

You read them too late! You got a negative PCR just carry on as normal.

CiderWithLizzie · 20/11/2021 19:35

I can’t see any lines (apart from the control ones)?

Doesn't look positive to me and pcr was negative.
You have fulfilled your obligations and your dd should enjoy her birthday.

PokemonGoGoGo · 20/11/2021 19:45

Wow some of these comments!

I can see a line on the middle test, and have read so many threads of people having a faint positive LFT, negative first PCR, then a repeat PCR is positive.

I think you've done the right thing OP, although it seems a lot of Mumsnet doesn't agree.

Symptoms and a faint positive LFT is a positive to me, regardless of what an early PCR says.

Thanks @PokemonGoGoGo x

LFTs look positive to me, I think you're doing the right thing.
