I'm hugely confused - can anyone give me an answer to this please?

I had Covid recently and isolated for 11 days. My isolation period has now finished. DH came down with it too and is still isolating.

My question is, can I now take our toddler DC out and about with me or do they need to stay at home and isolate along with DH?

They haven't shown any symptoms of Covid at all and have not been tested.

Are they ok to go to playgroups, to the playground and meet up with friends?

I just want to know I'm doing the right thing.

If so, yes your toddler is fine to go out and about with you. The recommendation is to pcr test them but that’s not compulsory.

They are under 18 so if you are double vaccinated you can take dc out and about. Personally i wouldn't do indoor groups but I'd go on outside walks, and check with friends if they were happy to meet outside.

Even if the op weren’t double vaccinated, they could still go out and about after finishing her own isolation period. That’s always been the case. Someone else in your house developing Covid after you doesn’t reset your clock when you’ve tested positive.

You can take them out but I think it would be utterly selfish of you to take them to playgroups and indoor environments where they will share toys and interact with others etc. incase they have it without symptoms

Purpledaisies if someone in your household has tested positve for covid you do have to stay indoors and isolate again if you havent been double vaxxed or if you;re over 18. Before the double vax rule people could be isolating for weeks on end, if people in their household developed symptoms, and tested positive for Covid. Also, if after you have been a close contact of someone who tested positive for Covid and finished your isolation only to then develop symptoms you must isolate again. First person gets Covid. Does ten day (previously longer) isolation. Finished and able to leave.

Person two starts isolating with person one. This has changed now if they’re double vaccinated and symptomless. Gets Covid and isolates for correct period. That has no effect on person one. They don’t need to add extra days on to their isolation.

Depends which U.K. country they’re in, I think apparently Wales now makes you stay in as family members until a negative PCR? They’ve kept mask throughout too but not here in England

Double vaccinated is irrelevant if you’ve just had Covid. You don’t need to start isolating again if someone in your household catches Covid from you. This has always been the case. Look at this explanation from the bbc back in 2020 when the isolation period was 14 days for contacts and vaccination status made no difference.

Who is saying they don’t? The op’s situation is that she has JUST HAD COVID. Someone in her situation does not need to continue isolating with their family if someone catches Covid from them beyond their ten day stretch at home.

When DH has finished his isolation can we take them to indoor things straightaway after that? Or do we need to wait even longer?

I'm unsure as they could catch it on say, day 9 of DH's isolation but not have any symptoms.

It depends crucially on exactly when her dp first got his symptoms or tested positive. If that was outside her 10 day isolation and she was only single vaccinated, then she would have to isolate again. If within her 10 days, then she doesn't isolate again regardless of vacination status. Were actually all in agreement. Honestly.

This should show you who needs to isolate and for how long.

You can treat your daughter as being in the “fully vaccinated” category because she’s under 18yrs and 6 months.
This is the guidance for England.

For indoors stuff I'd be fine doing that after dh finishes his isolation as long as your child does not develop symptoms in the meantime.
