I'm hugely confused - can anyone give me an answer to this please?

I had Covid recently and isolated for 11 days. My isolation period has now finished. DH came down with it too and is still isolating.

My question is, can I now take our toddler DC out and about with me or do they need to stay at home and isolate along with DH?

They haven't shown any symptoms of Covid at all and have not been tested.

Are they ok to go to playgroups, to the playground and meet up with friends?

I just want to know I'm doing the right thing.

Thanks.

@ColettesEarrings thank you! If you were me, would you do a PCR test on the toddler DC as well, or just keep an eye on whether they develop symptoms?

I would test toddler and if negative go out

Not sure tbh. Testing a toddler can be very difficult and potentially quite traumatic for both of you. Have you ever tested them before? How do you think they might be?

I’d PCR test your toddler, then go about your business, trying to keep your toddler away from DH while he is isolating.

If you can avoid indoor playgroups etc that would be better but you are under no obligation to.

I wouldn’t take a child out until I’d got a negative PCR test, children are more likely to be asymptomatic than adults so no symptoms doesn’t mean they don’t have it. My own daughter never had a single symptom or sign of illness at all but was positive.
