For everyone who has had had or has currently got Covid is there anything you are finding useful to have stocked in medicine wise?

@murcimari

OMG, these are the items you all stocked up on? No wonder so many people on mumsnet are so bl@*@dy* ill Shock Lemsip totally prolongs covid, especially if you start taking it at the first sign of illness. You should also let fever run its course, it's your body's way of killing the virus. A healthy grown up should be able to bear a temperature of up to 38.8C without any problems. Consuming dairy is a big NO NO when having cold-like symptoms. Other foods to completely avoid are bananas (also increase mucus) and seafood. Cut out sugar completely for the duration of the illness. Consuming any of the above does nothing else but prolongs your illness!

Instead of all this modern-day garbage recommended by the others, none of which will serve any purpose in your recovery, stock up on:

vit D+K drops, zinc, liposomal vit C, Allicin Max, Vit B3 (Niacin), Quercetin and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) and drink lots of bone broth

  • available from supermarkets and farms selling online.

Good luck to you.

Why does lemsip prolong covid? Cutting out all sugar is a bad idea as your body needs some energy whilst fighting off Covid.

Night nurse for night, sudafed plus paracetamol for day. Robitussin for annoying cough that still lingered.
Multivits and zinc to give my body a hand fighting it.

Food wise, when I had it I was still well enough to Cook and had not long filled the freezer. But I'd suggest lots of low effort meals, tins, frozen etc. Blackcurrant squash because I drink hot blackcurrant when ill.
Also, a supply of haribo tangfastics or similar sour and strong tasting sweets. They were the only thing I could actually taste for a week!

Where are the public announcements about avoiding milk and lemsip if you’re positive? I feel SAGE need to let everyone know this wisdom!!!

Favorite snacks - and lots of them.
Easy food and lots of different drinks

Second the supermarket bad rules about paracetamol. It’s quite frustrating if 3 of you are ill and you need infant calpol, 6+ and tablets. I get the concern regarding overdose, but it’s quite frustrating.

Horse de-wormer and scotch whisky.

InTheLabyrinth · 05/11/2021 09:52

Paracetamol.
My 12 yr old was on calpol fast melts as he couldnt swallow the pills. Amazon will deliver it next day with prime. They didnt seem to have a problem with frequent deliveries even tho we could only have 2 boxes at a time....

Boiled sweets.
Tinned soup.
Thats about all he ate.
