Anyone double jabbed and had booster and since tested positive? v

I had the booster 3 weeks ago. My young dc have tested positive and I'm feeling a little achey, been sneezing every 2seconds and runny nose. Had a very sore throat 2 days ago but it's fine today. My pcr (done at same time as dc) came back negative but I'll book another tomorrow.

Yes! DD tested positive about a week or so after I'd had my booster. I didn't catch it from her, however DH did and I went on to catch it from him after about a week.
However I had a much milder illness than both of them. (DH is double jabbed, DD too young for vaccine)

I had my booster on Saturday and tested positive yesterday. I actually thought the symptoms were side effects from the vaccine. The rest of the household is negative so far.

Is the booster like the first two where your not fully covered until post two weeks? Have you had covid before? My booster isnt due until next year but it will be interesting to see what happens by then as I will also be 12 months post having covid.

I hope it's not to bad for you if it's your first time with covid. That's really bad luck if its caught within a week of the booster.

Thanks - I had the booster 3 weeks ago. My 2yo is struggling though. He was really grizzly on Wednesday and better yesterday but he's been up for last couple hours unable to sleep properly.

I was counting on my sleep to help recovery!

They have said that the booster starts working straight away and not needing the 2 weeks period, as previous doses.

I would PCR today. My husband and daughters LFT's were negative but their PCRS they took an hour later were positive!

I started with covid the day my booster was due ( I didn't have it) and been so poorly with it but the rest of my family are very mild. I hope it's mild for you all too

Thank you. Interesting the booster works straight away , the lady who administered it said 2 weeks but then again she didn't know whether I was supposed to have a booster or third full dose. I left thinking I've had the booster but my friend who was there at the same time said it was a third full dose they were offering and there is no such thing as a smaller amount or booster dose?

My colleague did. He was a bit coldy then a bit fluey but better after 3 days. Which is a quicker recovery than I’ve heard for anyone else who’s had symptoms.

A couple of my neighbours. They were only a few days post booster though. Both elderly and quite poorly with it.

How are you feeling this morning? Not too bad I hope. I know someone who tested negative two days after contact, but then tested positive on a PCR six days later. Either way, better you know.

The booster is a third full dose of Pfizer or a half dose of Moderna (which is actually still stronger than a full dose of Pfizer).

I feel worse than I did yesterday but I was up overnight for a few hours with my dc so not sure if it's that too. My upper back is achey and chest feels heavy , kind of

Just a couple of things:

Booster takes a couple of weeks to kick in fully just like your first two doses.

If you were immunocompromised at the time of either of your first two doses (chemotherapy, treatments for immune system related arthritis etc) you may be eligible for a third primary dose which will be followed by a 'booster' dose in another 6 months. This can be either Pfizer, Moderna or AZ but an mRNA vaccine is preferable.

A 'booster' dose is either exactly the same amount of Pfizer as first two times (0.3ml) or half a Moderna (0.25ml). Very few people will also be offered AZ if they aren't suitable to have the mRNA vaccines.

OP I really hope you feel a lot better soon. Do you know why the lady thought you might be due third primary dose rather than booster?

I had my third Pfizer vaccine recently and the vaccinator told me she was noting down on my details that I’d require a 6 month booster after this one.

She told me to make a note and to make contact if I’d not heard anything in 6 months. She was worried I’d get lost in the system, although also stated things may change again in 6 months.

I’m currently on 8 weekly Vedolizumab infusions for Crohn’s but I was unaware of this further booster?

So the third vaccine and booster are indeed two differing amounts?

Ahhh this makes sense from what the hcp said to me. But how can the Pfizer be referred to as booster and full dose

In any case I had half the moderna dose so the booster amount, I think
