Impossible to book booster jab

I’ve been trying to book the Covid booster but am finding it impossible. On the NHS website, it says that you can book via 119 if 6 months and one week have passed since your second vaccine and haven’t yet been contacted to book your appointment. So I rang 119 and was told that I couldn’t book until I’d been contacted. I explained what the website said and she was as puzzled as me! It’s just going round in circles.

I vaccinated a lot of people today who received texts this morning saying they were eligible. They were all vaccinated on 27 or 28 April (this is at a walk in clinic)

@Cookerhood ,
thanks for the map, but as I stated you can't turn up for a booster without a text/message from the woeful system in place now. Before it was being efficiency run by GPs/NHS, that doesn't seem to be the situation now.

That's odd, you can where I am. Everywhere has its own systems I guess.

Just looked at the website for centres in my area, it says that you can go to a walk in clinic if 182 days have passed since 2nd jab. I’m going to give that a try but I still don’t know if you have to show a text from NHS? Plus, does 182 days equate to 6 months and 1 week?

Just realised I can’t find my vaccine card either! Hope they can just look on the NHS records. Having Long Covid has messed up my memory amongst other things 😳

I'd say keep checking online, as I went more than a week over the six months and then suddenly it changed and let me book it. It is a very frustrating system and I had the same conversation with 119 where they told me that they only have access to the same system. My GP woudn't help at all!

Cookerhood · 28/10/2021 21:18

You don't need your vaccine card at all. It will help if you have you have your NHS number. You other jabs will be on the system

I'm a front line worker and 7 months since my 2md jab and all the centers are miles away
