Anyone had a PCR result arrive during the day?

We are waiting on a PCR result, it's been almost 48h but we really really needed it back today.
All the results we've ever had have come back overnight, latest by 7.30am, so I sort of assumed the results senders worked night shifts.
Do they actually send out results during the day from drive through tests or should I just give up hope? Has anyone ever had a result during the day?
I've called 119, test is properly registered but nothing they can do to chase until 72hrs.

Dh got his late morning first time, early afternoon second time.

Hearditonapodcast · 28/10/2021 09:27

Had one at 2pm and one at 4.30pm,both tests were sent at the same time!

purpleme12 · 28/10/2021 09:29

Yes they come in the day and night

OliveTree75 · 28/10/2021 09:30

I've had them at all different times in the day. I had a test on Sunday and got the results in 2 hours as a mobile lab was on site. I think it depends on a lot of factors but you can definitely get results through the day

CornishYarg · 28/10/2021 09:46

Our family have had results at lunchtime, during the night and at 9am. (And we've also had one set of results that didn't arrive and 119 don't know what happened to them...hopefully you're not in that category.)

Have had results in the day. I don’t think your theory is correct. And it’s not humans ‘sending out the results’ is it, it’s all automated.

happytoday73 · 28/10/2021 09:55

Have had results both day and night at all types of times and lengths after testing

ItsSnowJokes · 28/10/2021 09:59

Had one at 11am and another at 5pm. It used to always be overnight but seems to be totally random now around here. Also it is taking a lot longer than it ever used too. Quickest result was 12.5 hours. Longest has been 45 hours.

usernotfound0000 · 28/10/2021 10:12

Yep, we had one arrive about 9.30am and another mid afternoon. I do try now to get the earliest booking slot, usually 9am, which has meant all our recent ones have arrived in the early hours of the next day.

BarbaraWoodlouse · 28/10/2021 10:14

Yes have had a couple around noon.

Backofbeyond50 · 28/10/2021 10:15

3.30 pm for me

needtogetfit21 · 28/10/2021 11:08

@Tinysnickers are you in Midlothian / Scotland by any chance?

We had ours on Tuesday 4pm following a close contact alert. Still no results. This is the longest it's ever taken. However 1 of us has tested positive on a LFT this morning.

I'm thinking the pcr was probably too early anyway and we will probably have to go for a retest but don't want to waste resources unnecessarily so will wait for results from Tuesday

Tinysnickers · 28/10/2021 11:20

No, South west. It was 10am Tuesday we did it.

needtogetfit21 · 28/10/2021 11:26

@Tinysnickers hope we both get them soon

kimlo · 28/10/2021 11:47

I've had them at all sorts of times. I think they just automatically get sent once they are finished.

Glitterblue · 28/10/2021 11:57

DD's came through at 6pm.

hanahsaunt · 28/10/2021 11:59

Mostly during the day

Cornettoninja · 28/10/2021 13:13

We’ve had a mixture of very early morning and during the day. I have noticed that the email is usually two or three hours before any text so would advise you to keep an eye on that over waiting for a text.

ElleGettingBetter · 28/10/2021 14:00

Mine came through at 11am today via email and 11.02am via test, positive result and in East Mids.

ElleGettingBetter · 28/10/2021 14:00

Via text*

hellcatspangle · 28/10/2021 15:52

Both mine have come around 11am. Can't you ring 119 and chase it?

DriftingPlateTectonic · 28/10/2021 16:13

Posted ours back Tues at 3pm, collection time from that postbox was 6pm, so I'm counting our wait time from then. Really hope we get results back soon.

Tinysnickers · 28/10/2021 17:20

Still no email or text. Now 57 hours since test. 119 say nothing they can do until 72hrs.
One of ours in the early days of PCRs took 6 days, so it better not be another of those!

11.45 am for my daughter

Brokenrecord3006 · 28/10/2021 18:07

That's a long time to wait. I'm south west and my recent ones have taken 9 hours amd 7 hours to come back. Hope you hear soon!
