Describe to me your COVID cough

Having a tricky time with a family member with a cough over the definition of “continuous cough”.

For those who have had a cough with COVID, please could you describe your cough to me?

Was it coughing non stop for a few minutes at a time? Or as single cough every 10 mins? Or just a clearing of your throat?

Thank you.

Mine was chesty - the same I have when I get a cold. At the height of it I probably coughed maybe 1 cough every couple of hours. Not much at all!

Mine was initially a very occasional dry, tickly cough but only first thing and last thing, when I was taking my inhaler.

It gradually worsened until I was pretty much constantly coughing. It lasted about 8 weeks in the end and I'm still experiencing rib pain about 4 weeks after the cough stopped.

I have ordered a test today as have developed a slightly phlegmy cough and a high temp. Had cold like symptoms the past couple of days. LFTs were negative so didn't think about PCR until I've been coughing all afternoon.

Like a regular cough really. Coughing on & off throughout the day. Relatively dry. Worse at night laying down. It wasn’t anything awful but also quite annoying. It kept me awake for a few days.

Same here. I found propping myself up at night with extra pillows helped.

My daughter currently has covid she's 8 and her cough is getting worse as I'm she's coughing more on day 5. It's not chesty though more dry and annoying. I was just wondering how long it lasts? I thought it would have calmed down. I think she's had covid since last weekend now I think back to her having a headache.

I ended up getting COVID and I was out of my 10 day isolation yesterday. I’m coughing more now than I did in the first 10 days! I’ve heard the cough can last for weeks/months…
