How many of you will comply?

I am interested to know if people will comply or not if they bring in Restrictions again about not mixing households, not seeing family or lockdowns etc again.
So many people I've spoken to are pretty much all of the same mindset of 'Fu#k that I'm not not seeing my family again, enough is enough and we have to get on with our lives now'
I also read this a lot on comments of articles where people are saying no they won't do it again and not see their loved ones or be told what to do over Christmas etc.

What are everyone's overall feelings as things stand right now?

TBH I would probably comply but only because it is easy for me to do so, we live in a big house, we have a garden, and I'm not a massive fan of my inlaws. Plus most of my friends are pretty compliant so as long as we could meet up for walks etc... we would be fine.

But I have huge sympathy with people who are not as fortunate as me, and the fact that many of you are saying you wouldn't comply does not surprise or anger me.

@Worldgonecrazy

I will Comply at the same level of compliance as those making the rules. Grin
This.
Firesidefox · 21/10/2021 12:28

Depends what they ask of us. I am not being locked in for one walk a day again. I am not wearing a mask outdoors.

Nat6999 · 21/10/2021 12:29

Why should we comply when the person who is making the rules (Boris) doesn't comply with them?

KrispyKale · 21/10/2021 12:31

Tbh he's a jerk and I don't look to him for leadership.

Starlightstarbright1 · 21/10/2021 12:31

I honestly wish they would just bring face masks in again. Do something rather than nothing at all. It is something simple that reduces risk without a great impact on people's lives

LittleMysSister · 21/10/2021 12:33

No I wouldn't do it again.

ColettesEarrings · 21/10/2021 12:34

For me personally and the children I'd happily not comply, however that wouldn't actually be possible. The grandparents that we'd normally visit will, I suspect, cancel and not want us to come. However even if they did want to have us over, dh is the only driver and his job is such that if we were caught/cautioned/fined he'd lose his job and entire career. So there's no way he'll ever take the risk.

So whilst I won't comply in respect of seeing close and local friends, I won't be physically able to see family sadly.

Whammyyammy · 21/10/2021 12:36

I remember during the summer when it was mandatory for us sheep to wear masks and social distance, then watched the world leaders hob mnobbing it at the G7 with no masks or social distancing.
That was a clear messaging to me.

No

KrispyKale · 21/10/2021 12:37

They've all got private healthcare to back them up.

Moonface123 · 21/10/2021 12:39

I would comply, but l don't honestly think it will come to this, we have just got to learn to live with it now, not avoid it, avoidance is only a temporary measure. The restrictions did not affect my way of life as bad as it affected others. I still went out to work everyday, so did my eldest son and my youngest is home schooled anyway.

Oysterbabe · 21/10/2021 12:39

I won't be staying away from family.

Notgettingbetter · 21/10/2021 12:41

@outofservice

My 78 year old Aunty committed suicide in April. We hadn’t seen her for 8 months. She lived alone and wouldn’t break the Covid rules. It was devastating. To hear that the Prime Minister broke his own restrictions was such a low blow. Our lives have changed so much, mental illness, family members taking to their own smaller bubbles that we don’t have the get-togethers/large gatherings we used to pre-covid so yes, I imagine we will stick to restrictions, out of new habits rather than choice.
I'm so sorry about your Auntie 😞💐
Gettingonwithlife · 21/10/2021 12:41

Definitely comply

KrispyKale · 21/10/2021 12:41

It does seem viral load is important in how ill you would be so avoidance or rather minimisation may not be so useless as you feel Moonface.

FireandBrimstone · 21/10/2021 12:42

Wow, what a load of extremely selfish, smug, non-compliant people there are on here. Stay well everyone.

BluebellsGreenbells · 21/10/2021 12:42

There are no restrictions where I live since June, no masks or social distancing, most of the population have been vaccinated with the younger teens just beginning to be offered it.

Very few in hospital. Although the numbers are creeping up.

I doubt anything will change for the UK unless there’s major staff crisis at the hospitals.

Whammyyammy · 21/10/2021 12:42

Was it ever said it was that bad? Always said it had a 99.4% survival rate
2bazookas · 21/10/2021 12:42

I will continue to do everything asked of us, in order to keep us safe and well.

And, to protect and support my family working in NHS, who are weary and tired and furious at all their efforts and sacrifice being thrown back in their faces by lazy selfish morons who can't be bothered to take simple basic precautions.

Notgettingbetter · 21/10/2021 12:42

I will comply but it will probably be easy - my family all live far away and we're not close emotionally anyway.

User1234123 · 21/10/2021 12:45

If it ends up being Plan B, that being;

  • Masks on transport and in shops
  • Vaccine passports
  • A "work from home if possible" mantra

Then fine. Even if there is backlash, I think the majority would be on board.

But that is where it's got to stop. No travel restrictions, no lockdowns and no bans on non essential business, no bans on gigs/pubs etc, unless hospital numbers/deaths are at the March 2020 levels.

It is getting to the sorry state where people are starting to resent the NHS and doctors/scientists

ILookAtTheFloor · 21/10/2021 12:46

Nope.

And I'll be mask exempt this time if they bring back the mandate.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 21/10/2021 12:46

It’s a no from me

ginslinger · 21/10/2021 12:47

yes I will comply - I would prefer that they would bring in some low level rules now like mandatory face coverings.
