Hey all

I tested postive last weekend.
I have been shocked how poorly covid made.
Being sick.
Stomach pains.
Nausea.
Whole body aches.
Fever.
Tiredness oh so tired.....
Runny nose
Headache
Cough
Lost of taste
Sore eyes

OK, so I'm no marathon runner but I'm mid 40s and no other medical conditions.
Healthy weight. Fairly active.

I suppose I was stupid to think I'd just bat this off like a mild cold.

“ I wasn't too bad days 1 to 5 and thought it was unpleasant but the vaccine had made it milder than it might have been. It was day 7 when I started to get really ill and day 10 it got serious. A doctor told me days 7 to 10 were often the worst.”

It’s the waiting for me , I’m on day 6 now and felt ok so far . Thought I was getting a bit of a sore throat before and went a bit cold have took paracetamol . Don’t want the headache! , Dh had it pain front and back said it was awful and he’s suffered from bad headaches all his life so quite use to pain .

I'm fully vaccinated, although with some underlying health conditions, I never expected to feel as ill as I was, I really thought if I caught it, it would be pretty mild because of the jabs. I've had flu before but this completely floored me, even now 4 weeks later still suffering effects.

Do not want it back in this house again . At least when I had flu 2000 (never forgot it NYE ) It came and was done in 5 days never had time to think about it .

I'm double vaccinated, mid 40s and on day 10 . Have felt awful over the past ten days at it's worst it was really frightening- the suffocating feeling around day 6 - 8 was horrific, trying to sleep and wondering if I was going to wake up in the morning. The initial back pain, fever and headaches on day 1 and 2 were hard. It's felt like the longest ten days ever.
At day 10 the breathlessness has improved to being much less scary but the nausea, headaches, insomnia and loss of appetite is enough to be dealing with.
Now having to deal with work expecting me in despite telling them how ill I still am they still expect a Dr's note which I doubt I will receive in time.

PrincessNutNuts · 02/11/2021 13:20

We'll do all we can not to catch it again.

I've never known my husband to be ill before, and it was quite frightening for the whole family.

violetanemone · 02/11/2021 13:22

No, it's not shocking at all that it would make you very ill.

It has caused all these lockdowns and a global pandemic for a reason - because it's bloody horrible!

People are becoming way too casual about it.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 02/11/2021 13:34

I'm on day 21. My taste and smell are coming back but I'm so weak, I can't carry stuff, even holding a cup of tea is harder than it should be. I also have sudden tidal waves of tiredness, and have to lie down and sleep. Plus the delightful cough and shortness of breath.

I've been signed off for a couple of weeks, the doctor advised that I don't try and struggle through, as it will only take longer to recover.

Budapestdreams · 02/11/2021 16:42

It does feel like most people think the pandemic is over and that if you're vaccinated you'll get hardly any symptoms. I'm concerned that work will expect me back at full health when I'm not.

MabelMoo23 · 05/11/2021 18:00

I’m on day 9, isolation finishing tomorrow night. Finally starting to sort of feel human, but still got hacking cough, tiredness and croaky.

But I feel a bit more human. I think. This time last week I was SO SO ill. I do not want to go through that again

Also didn’t help both my kids had covid sns husband was negative so fucked off to work so I was stuck taking care of two young children as well. So I didn’t really get opportunity to just sleep

iloveredwine · 05/11/2021 18:10

I'm on day 7. It has been pretty consistent and horrible. The cough is awful. It has left me aching when I cough as its been so much. Comes on suddenly for a few hours then goes but then its the breathlessness. Just horrible. Cant wait for this to be over. I keep waking up coughing so getting hardly any sleep. Horrible

MrsWombat · 05/11/2021 18:46

Early 40s, double vaccinated, slightly overweight but otherwise fit and healthy. On day 5. It's been like the worst cold ever, but I had a tooth abscess a few weeks ago and I thought I was dying then so this is relatively easy in comparison. Feeling more tired today but less of the cold symptoms. Rather worried to hear things could get worse.

I don’t think I’ve found it as bad as type A flu, which I’ve had twice in my life and wiped me out for ten days. Temperature of 105. Weight dropping off me. Finding it hard to breathe.
