Anyone had their 3rd jab?

Has anyone has their 3rd jab yet? I've been invited to mine next week. I had terrible side effects after the 1st but none after the 2nd. I was just wondering if anyone had any side effects after it?

I can’t tell you how every vaccine centre is operating but at the ones within my trust yes you can turn up with the letter or other evidence and ask for 3rd vaccine. You lose nothing by going there and asking.
And yes moderna is a half dose. And AZ not being given as booster or 3rd dose.

DottyHarmer · 20/10/2021 09:24

So a half dose of moderna as a third vaccine?

DottyHarmer · 20/10/2021 09:25

Or a full Pfizer?

PineappleVision · 20/10/2021 09:26

Dotty I don’t know if they are using half dose moderna as a 3rd. Moderna has not yet been used within my vac centre.

Thanks!

How do you book a 3rd vaccine, my vaccine centre would certainly not let you just ‘turn up’.

@DottyHarmer

So a half dose of moderna as a third vaccine?
Only if it is your booster.

If you require a third primary, it should be a full dose

(This is an example of why the 'third jab' language is so confusing)

So the plot thickens. I just had a text from my GP Practice inviting me to 'book a booster', still completely ignoring the existence of the 3rd primary jab for the immune-suppressed and the JCVI guidelines. (Sigh.)

I went on the link they sent me and I could only book it at the GP Practice they've teamed up with as a local hub, nowhere else. (I also went on the NHS main booking website for a look-see and it's still telling me I'm not eligible.)

The 'local hub' had just one appointment left for the coming week, so I grabbed it. I just have to hope it's a full dose of Pfizer on offer. I'll take my medication paperwork anyway and discuss as necessary.

I think what a lot of GP Practices are also not understanding very well is how vaccinations have to be juggled around medication doses. I inject myself with a TNF-a blocker and am advised to miss a dose and have the jab in the middle of this cycle. Having to grab vaccines at short notice, before they get nabbed by someone else, isn't great practice.
