It's gone very quiet. Has anyone heard about booster jabs being given in their area?

cabrillolighthouse · 05/10/2021 17:14

I've got my booster tomorrow (NHS worker). Got a text last week inviting me to book.

Shitzngiggles · 05/10/2021 17:16

Had mine and flu jab last Thursday. Over 50 and social care worker.

Cuck00soup · 05/10/2021 17:23

They are available to anyone in groups 1-9 (so over 50, clinically vulnerable or health & social care workers) once they are 6 months or 180 days post their second vaccine.

In practice, this currently means the elderly and health staff as others didn't have their second Vax until later.

Once you are 180 days past you should get a notification via text and or email advising you to book / walk in.

PuzzledObserver · 05/10/2021 17:42

DH had his last week (was a care home worker, so had 1st/2nd jabs in Dec/March). We went for our flu jab today and when the pharmacist brought my records up he commented that I would be eligible for my booster at the end of this month.

hashbrownsandwich · 05/10/2021 17:48

You have to be 6 months or more from your second dose, so if you are eligible you should be contacted either by the national booking system or your GP.

GrammarTeacher · 05/10/2021 17:56

It's happening but after being forced to shield due to my asthma I am not getting a booster yet.

Tinpotspectator · 05/10/2021 18:01

Just had mine.

SonnetForSpring · 05/10/2021 18:06

My dad had his last week.

whatfreshheck · 05/10/2021 18:07

I had mine 2 weeks ago. Where I am we are vaccinating front line care workers and care home residents first.

starfish4 · 05/10/2021 18:09

Both my Mum and I can have ours at 25 weeks. My Mum received a GP's letter with date and time. I can book under a different system to NHS, and again it's 25 weeks - I'm having it done at 27 weeks due to working 6/7 days until roughly that date, and bus driver strikes that have been announced in our area!

CrimeJunkie01 · 05/10/2021 18:13

@PastMyBestBeforeDate

I had my booster over a week ago.
Me too...still not showing on my medical records though!!
ThePontiacBandit · 05/10/2021 18:21

I’m clinically vulnerable (group 6) and I’ve been offered an appointment at the nearest centre and at my GP practice. My first vaccine was in January. I also work for an NHS trust and we have been offered appointments through work (but I’m off sick at the moment so I can’t get there easily). So yes, the booster appointments are coming out but they are trying to get people who had their vaccines earliest in for their boosters first.

Kettletoaster · 05/10/2021 18:24

Just had my booster this morningGrin

QuarantineQueen · 05/10/2021 18:36

I'm CEV and well over 6 months from first jab but heard nothing about a booster yet. I wish they would hurry up as I'm a teacher and we have some classes with a third of the students off with it!

It's 180 days after your second jab

Today people could have a booster if they had their second on or before the 9th April.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 05/10/2021 19:12

@CrimeJunkie01 I've no idea if it's showing on mine! I did get a card though (and was offered a sticker for the first time :) ) so I have some proof.

QuarantineQueen · 05/10/2021 19:32

@Cuck00soup yes good point that's my typo, I do mean I'm over 6 months from my second jab.
I think my area is just behind.

CiderWithLizzie · 05/10/2021 19:33

I had mine a week ago and it’s not showing on my app either?

AnyFucker · 05/10/2021 19:34

Had mine last week

CovidCorvid · 05/10/2021 19:37

The nhs site says wait to be contacted for your booster? 🤷‍♀️ Dh is over 50 and Dd is in category 6 so both eligible but not heard anything.

Flowers2020bloom · 05/10/2021 19:38

I've had an invite to mine from my doctors surgery so booked in but on booking there were 5 criteria to meet - none of which said anything about 180 days since last vaccine. This thread is the first I've heard of it (though have to admit haven't looked anything up as hadn't realised I was going to be offered it) and I'm less than 180 days past. Do you think they'll turn me away?

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 05/10/2021 19:46

They did ask me the date of my 2nd jab when they were checking me in for my booster. And they did ask DH if he wanted his but he's not 6 months past his.

Cuck00soup · 05/10/2021 20:04

It might be worth going onto the national booking system in that case and see if it lets you book.

No promises - as you say your area might have delays, but worth a look.

Cuck00soup · 05/10/2021 20:07

Boosters aren't yet showing in the "covid" section of the app, but if you go into your GP record you should see it there.

AnyFucker · 05/10/2021 20:13

I had mine last Monday and not showing anywhere yet
