I took this on my 4 year old and I believed it was a negative, it was evening and kind of dark in my house, I always assumed the line would be super dark and obviously if there was going to be a line, so the next day I sent him into school then came home and seen his test on the bench near the window and went to bin it and noticed another line. Iv since sent off a test and waiting for results

I can just see it. But I've had one brand that all do this by the next day. Anything after the time stated is invalid.

Nope no matter how hard I look I can't see a second line either.
If this is what a positive lateral flow test looks like then it's no wonder why so many people are missing them and carrying on as normal me included 😳

They say not to ready after 30 minutes

Yep that’s what my kids LFT’s looked like when they had covid. My LFT tests were completely clear with no grey line (you could tell the difference when comparing my test to the kids tests). I was pcr negative and the kids were pcr positive.

My dd's ltf tests looked like this 2 days ago. She has since had a positive pcr.

I'm sure that a lot of people miss the lines when they're very faint. I also know of at least one person who did see the faint line, decided it was too faint to mean anything and then proceeded to spread covid around to lots of different people.

I can see the line

redsky21 · 07/10/2021 17:50

@Nikki037297 what did the pcr come back as?

Felyne · 07/10/2021 18:00

Do a PCR. My DS had a couple of lateral flows with faint shadow lines that appeared after 30 minutes. None of the rest of us had anything like that. He got a PCR which was negative.
The next week he got a very obvious positive result confirmed by PCR.
Not sure if he had a faint case on a 'slow burn' for a couple of weeks or what.
