Sore throat only?

I have woken up today with a really sore throat.

Unfortunately I don’t have any lateral flow tests. Should I go for a PCR? I am due to go to work tomorrow morning.

Has anyone tested positive with just a sore throat?

I find a sore throat is the very first sign of any virus taking hold. I guess that's why it's not on the symptoms list for pcr. I had a headache and a very mild sore throat and lft came up positive, as did pcr.
On timing, son did pcr yesterday and it came back this morning.

My friend had an awful sore throat. She had no other symptoms and tested positive. She then had all the classic symptoms the following day.

I had a sore throat, headache and nausea but tested negative for over a fortnight with a mixture of PCRs and LFT. Looks like I just had a cold.

Keep us updated!

I started a sore throat last night. Did a LFT and was negative but getting a PCR. My nose is now extremely runny and I feel feverish and achy (though temp is fine). Fingers crossed PCR is negative and I feel better soon - have professional exams this week and had been studying hard so want to do justice to my hard work!

Finally got my result… negative!

Good news!

Awcw1234 Bit of a late reply, but there is a tracking code with the postal ones. The post box was due to be emptied at 3 pm, the parcel arrived at the lab at 8pm and the result came back at 2pm the next day.

Awcw Should have read to the end of the thread! Good news!

DS is back to an infrequent dry cough and a runny nose. He feels fine.

His LFTs were both very faint (the first so faint we did it again). I don't know whether that equates to viral lode or not. We may have been lucky and, thankfully, none of his friends he was with on the crucial days have tested positive - so far.
