I've heard of " A sense of impending doom " being mentioned as a symptom of Covid .
Somebody mentioned it on a thread today . I can't find the thread but wondered if anyone can describe the feeling ?

It might have been me that mentioned it, and/or someone else on the support thread.

Yes, I got this - both times I have been ill with covid (lucky me) the first symptom has been almost premonitory fear creeping through my body and into my head like spiders are crawling around and a sudden onset of food refusal. It's hard to describe but it's liek all over and sudden fear, liek you imagine someone in a horror film feels .

Should have said, as it goes, I had a very high heartrate and, as others have said, it's a sign (especially in women) of a heart attack, so I assume it is related to the strain on the heart.

I had that when I'd eaten far too many plums from my plum tree. Worked out cheaper than colonic irrigation

Nope, didn't have this when I had Covid. I had no symptoms initially so was completely shocked at testing positive!

@Aposterhasnoname

If thats true then it explains half the mumsnet coronavirus board posters.

Low spirits, emotional, don't care etc - yes, but not sense of doom.

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have an sense of impending doom tbh. Isn't that just being an adult?

Yep this is a symptom of anaphylaxis too and I think is attributed to a sudden drop in blood pressure
