Just wondering if anyone who has tested positive has just had a mild case? Like just felt a bit off etc or is everyone usually quite poorly?

We had mild cases here. 3 DC and me. DC were largely unaffected. I had mild cold symptoms. Didn't miss a day of work (from home!). Confirmed with a PCR.

Bobholll · 30/08/2021 18:30

Yes me, very mild. I’ve had far worse colds.. did loose my taste briefly but it came back in 24 hours..

WaterIsBest · 30/08/2021 18:30

We are 18 months in

It ranges from not feeling ill at all to dying!
And everything in between

DarceyDashwood · 30/08/2021 18:35

I had a mild case (double jabbed). Worst bit was the tiredness. It never went to my chest etc. Just didn’t have any energy. Was back to normal by day 6.

OliveTree75 · 30/08/2021 18:45

I had it before I had a vaccine. Was like a very mild cold. Didn't feel unwell at all and infact I was starving and kept ordering food. Just had a runny nose and loss of smell. Maybe a bit more tired than usual but I have 3 young kids so I am always tired.

QueenofKattegat · 30/08/2021 18:50

I've had it twice now. Once pre vaccine and once after both. Both times it was a sniffle, nothing more. It is mild for the vast vast majority of people.

HangingChads · 30/08/2021 18:50

My DC. Mildly raised temp, felt a bit achey for 24h, then completely back to normal. No one else in the household caught it.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/08/2021 18:58

DH had it but did not notice until he had to undergo unrelated surgery and the hospital did a blood test on admission. That was in April last year, so way before vaccines.

wendz86 · 30/08/2021 19:00

Most people I know who have had it just has some minor cold symptoms .

vickyc90 · 30/08/2021 19:01

Antibody positive no idea when we had it! Majority of cases are mild

frazzledfragglefromfragglerock · 30/08/2021 19:24

I had an upset stomach and cramps all over my body for about 6-8 hours and a feeling of impending doom (which I'd never really understood until then, it was horrific I felt I was going to due even though I wasn't actually very ill!)

After that I was just tired for a few days. I was well enough teach my classes via video link while I was isolating. I only tested because I'd been in contact with a positive case and I'd read about "alternative symptoms" on here. I had no "proper" symptoms.

RaininSummer · 30/08/2021 19:31

Yes very mild here. Like a low key cold. I actually have a cold now and feel worse than I did with Covid.

This!

How do you not know that for most people covid is a mild illness? Seriously, do you think everyone ends up in hospital?

Stigofthedump40 · 30/08/2021 19:39

Me.. just felt off like i never felt before but nothing major.. and my kids just had temp but business as usual for them

shouldistop · 30/08/2021 19:49

A third of people will have no symptoms at all and the vast majority have a mild case.

Rowgtfc72 · 30/08/2021 19:58

Mild case before I was vaccinated. Lost taste and smell and felt shattered but not ill.
Caught it off dd who was poorly in bed for 4 days.

samsalmon · 30/08/2021 20:15

Yes, very mild for me.

Trinacham · 30/08/2021 20:20

I'm unvaccinated and have a very mild case. If it wasn't for isolating, I would be going into work, as I feel fine. On day 11 since symptoms started. I'm pretty sure most people have mild cases though.. it's the majority, rather than the minority!

H1Drangea · 30/08/2021 20:26

DD had a mild case ,
A day in bed feeling exhausted and achey , just needed paracetamol
No loss of appetite though , and then spent some time in her room as she didn’t want to risk us getting it ( we didn’t )
Then some time in the sun on the patio with a blanket over her as she felt she needed fresh air
Caught it in Ibiza with the girls

TheSunnySide · 30/08/2021 20:33

I would say my case is mild. Am 7 days post test and feel ok. I have been to work with worst colds.

Nothing could stop the anxiety I felt though, that part of it has been rough.

OvertiredandConfused · 31/08/2021 03:08

I’ve just tested positive (PCR). I’m double vaccinated and tested because my DH and DD tested positive. I’ve had five negative LFT (combination of the original ones and the new, quicker, nasal only ones). I’d say I’m asymptomatic although I did have a slight cold last week.

Susannahmoody · 31/08/2021 03:15

Had it fairly mild I suppose. Felt like I was coming down with a cold/ chest infection. Had 1 really rough night. Low fever and feeling woozy for a couple of days. So not too bad really.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 31/08/2021 04:47

Yeah I'd call mine mild. I had a blocked nose, sneezing and lost my sense of smell and taste. I felt rough for a couple of days but I was well enough to get up, shower every day, cook meals, play board games with DS.

110APiccadilly · 31/08/2021 05:54

I know someone who only found out when they did a test before going to the dentist. I also know people who've felt really grim, though I don't know anyone who's been ill enough to need medical attention.

notHarris · 31/08/2021 06:13

Increasingly likely after both vaccines!
My sister had it and had a bad cold for about 5 days, her Dp had it and coughed a bit and slept more than usual. Both continued to work from home as normal.

I had it early on, well before vaccines, confirmed with a blood test.
I had a cough and lost my sense of taste and smell, that cleared up but then I had headaches for several days and got tired very easily. Never felt worse than " under the weather" though.
