I'm just wondering I've managed to get alway through this with never being tested despite working allway through this subcontracting at a hospital.

No LFTor PCR I've not needed to , but there is people who are doing them all the time.

Is it just me as many on here will have a test every bloody day.

I have to do LFTs for work. I'm surprised you don't if you are working in a hospital?

I also do PCR tests for a Covid study.

I've only ever gone for a PCR off my own back 2 weeks ago. I tested positive.

Katie517 · 29/08/2021 18:07

Once to go into hospital for a planned c section last summer, then some overpriced pointless tests were ordered Friday night to enable myself and my fully vaccinated family to come back home from Portugal when we go there on holiday while the rest of Europe allows the fully vaccinated to travel test free!

They had no interest in helping us uslgetting the vaccine despite meeting NHS staff daily.

@Againstmachine

I've recently been contacted by NHS imperial colliege to take part in a survey no thanks due to nightmare I had with GPs earlier this year.
Why does this make you not want to take part in a study?
AlexaShutUp · 29/08/2021 18:15

Never done a pcr test but have done quite a lot of LTFs - not because symptomatic but as a preventative measure.

daisyjgrey · 29/08/2021 18:20

I don't think my parents have, although it hadn't dawned on me until I read your question.

They don't work or go to supermarkets, they've only eaten out in pub gardens etc and the rest of us test fairly regularly due to work/school/uni etc so I just don't think they've been in the position where they've needed to. They've definitely not had a PCR.

That they didn't help me on my time of need nah I don't want your studies thanks

None of us has have tested (2 adults, 2 children) at all. My partner and I are both teachers but there is no requirement to perform LF tests, only a suggestion.

AllCatsAreSpecial · 29/08/2021 18:24

I did LFTs regularly because of work (teacher). I had a PCR before I went in for a scheduled procedure in hospital but TOUCH WOOD!!!! I have never had to do a test because of symptoms nor have I ever had to self isolate!

User56439876 · 29/08/2021 18:26

DH and I haven't, we're retired and haven't had symptoms that we would need to test for, we go out quite a bit but that is not like going to work every day or having DC who are mixing a lot.

Wait, so — a bad experience with GPs earlier this year has turned you against the entire NHS?

Maybe I’ve misunderstood Confused

OK, not sure that's relevant though? Everyone I know working in hospitals are required to do LFTs.
LemonJuiceFromConcentrate · 29/08/2021 18:30

Anyway. I’ve never taken a test so far but I’m taking one tonight.

User56439876 · 29/08/2021 18:30

I wouldn't get one anyway and just isolate because if I was ill I wouldn't want T&T constantly ringing me up as mentioned on threads here

Againstmachine · 29/08/2021 18:32

@Waxonwaxoff0

A large majority of workers in hospitals don't work for the NHS.

Nope but if they aren't willing to see me during a infection that could kill me its not against the entire NHS but it's pretty bad they didn't.

ginislife · 29/08/2021 18:35

I've only had LFTs because I work in the office at a care home once a week. If I didn't do that then I wouldn't have had one at all

Lysianthus · 29/08/2021 18:43

Double vaxxed, NHS too, and had first test on Friday so I could go abroad. Santé ! 🍷

Peanutsandchilli · 29/08/2021 18:59

Nope, never. Haven't had the app and haven't been particularly ill. Haven't ever tested my kids either. The only person that had one was my husband, and it was negative.

Buzzinwithbez · 29/08/2021 19:18

I've gone two lat flow tests because a friend requested them.
I've never had any symptoms other than Dec 2019 so no other cause to test.

Emmacb82 · 29/08/2021 19:21

I’ve never had to do a pcr but I do twice weekly lfts for work

SunbathingDragon · 29/08/2021 19:25

I’ve not needed to do a test as I’ve not had any covid symptoms or reason to believe I have had covid. However, I’ve still regularly done LFT in the interest of protecting others and some PCR and antibody tests for research.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 29/08/2021 19:40

i've never done a test, nor has my wife

cassgate · 29/08/2021 19:44

The only test I have done was a pcr when I had symptoms ( smell and taste vanished overnight) and it was positive. Refuse to do lateral flows for my job as it advisory not compulsory. People I work with do lateral flows but are also constantly off doing pcr’s for the slightest sniffle and none have come back positive.

DramaAlpaca · 29/08/2021 19:48

DH and adult DS3 have never had any form of covid test.
