CEV and I just had Covid

Strangely, it felt like a relief!

Here's my story, in case it helps those who have been feeling anxious for a long time (as I had been):

Double jabbed and started feeling really rough on a Wed. Tired, aching hips, really sore head, blurred vision. Crawled into bed. Felt like this for 3 days or so then had a hunch and booked PCRs for the whole family. By this point, DH also feeling very tired, and the same weird body aches.

Sunday afternoon, we all test +. By Monday the kids have sniffles, one has a tummy upset.

By day 7, I was feeling brighter, but still very tired. DD2 developed a cough (nobody else got a cough at all) and DD1 and DH sneezing a lot.

I now have my period (on day 17, unheard of for me).

I'm on 2 immunosuppressives plus pred so am in the shielding / CEV category.
Interestingly it was no worse for me than DH.

Not to say you'll all be fine, but curiously, I feel like I've "faced my foe".

@PutneyHill not me but my friend has and was on the cv list and only had 1 day where her breathing was affected. The rest of the time it was slight cough and feeling really tired

Well I certainly found that the steroids helped me given my breathing problems. Whenever I have an infection that goes down to my chest historically I have ended up in hospital so my doctor doesn’t mess around and steroids are usually prescribed so they approached Covid in the same manner. I think generally the treatments are improving.

I should have mentioned that I was double jabbed. I think that has played its part in dampening the symptoms.

@rainraingogo Glad to hear you are ok! I’m also CEV and double vaccinated. Can you describe the body aches? I’ve also been feeling incredibly tired for a few days and I’ve been so achey this afternoon. Especially in my hips and legs, it feels like the day after a big workout. I’ve been getting weird twinges in my legs and my hands are so sore! Aching fingers and just feeling a bit weak. I’ve also had a bit of a raw throat. I wonder if I should test?

Anyone here over 55 and CEV had an okay Delta experience?

Toddlerteaplease · 20/08/2021 00:25

I also CEV but decided against shielding and carried on working full time. I also caught it. I've honestly had worse colds. It is a relief to have had it.

@ElephantandGrasshopper and @croon979 glad to hear you're ok too 😀

Your aches sound like the ones we had ... though not the hands.
Post workout is a good description... I'd say we felt like we had done a hard day skiing with a few falls or something. I think you should get a PCR.

Thank you for sharing this OP, it’s very thoughtful of you to do so. Do you mind me asking how old you are?

Thank you for sharing. Im glad you were ok. My mum is on mycophenolate and prednisolone but also has a lung condition. I worry about her everyday. I really hope when she gets it its the same.
