Pfizer & Period Problems

Hi, I had first pfizer jab and had a late period then just had second one this week and it's bought my period on early! Any ideas what's going on?! Or maybe it's just me. Seems a coincidence though.

I've reported it but no-one seems interested.

because men don't get periods.... bet there'd be an outcry if it affected their erections though.

I've been on the pill (Cerezette) for years but after my first Pfizer vaccine have been having a light/medium period for four weeks so far and no sign of stopping. Its very annoying. I've reported it as a side effecf now.

catsjammies · 13/08/2021 22:31

My most recent period after my second jab was noticeably lighter. Which is to say it felt like a normal period instead of the week long absolute horror movie style blood bath they have been since coming back last year after DS was born. Hoping the effect continues tbh.

ExpressDelivery · 14/08/2021 22:56

I didn't notice anything after the first but period arrived 2 weeks early after the second. All back to normal the following month.

To my logic, the vaccine is quite stressful on the body/immune system, it's just nature's way of making sure there's no pregnancy to deal with at the same time.

I’ve got a Mirena coil and (annoyingly) still get regular periods (32-ish day cycles).

My period after my May jab (Pfizer) was 1 week early, and slightly longer than usual. June’s period was normal (no jab). In July I had my 2nd Pfizer and it was 1 week early again, and 14 days long in total! Annoying. I’ll be interested to see what the next one is like!

NotYourCisterinAus · 15/08/2021 14:44

I'm in late perimenopause, so regularity is no longer a thing with me, but I had an unexpected and weirdly long period 12 days after my first Pfizer jab.

spottygymbag · 15/08/2021 22:57

I've had one shot, next due later this week. I was watching carefully after discussions on here. Cycle length and due were normal after the first one but it was shorter. Usually heavy for a couple of days then trails off slowly over a couple of days. This time I had the heavy part and then nothing. Completely finished. Everything else cycle wise seems to be normal following that. Will be watching again after this next shot to see if anything changes

Tablow · 16/08/2021 02:37

I had Pfizer which kick started my cycle after two years (breastfeeding) and caused intense flooding where I've been bleeding out of a maxi tampon and night towel in about 20 mins for my 'period' and have had constant bleeding every day pretty much. I have the odd two days without bleeding them it comes back again. I feel literally drained.

noonetoblamebutmyselfandpizza · 03/09/2021 13:32

How are you all doing now?
My cycle was fine after my first vaccine, since having my second I've had 2 cycles , both with spotting for 5 days before and then it arrived 6 days early, this one was 10 days early!

What's going on! :(

I'm usually very regular so I don't like this.
I wonder how long it will go on for.

NotYourCisterinAus · 04/09/2021 01:13

I had another period 13 days after my second shot. I'm in my mid-fifties, so I should be WAY past getting monthly, uh, monthlies!

CookieCrunch123 · 05/09/2021 10:51

Does anyone know how long this goes on for? My first cycle since my 2nd Pfizer jab was much shorter than normal. My second cycle was half the normal length which has never happened in my life. I’m usually very regular.

Also, did anyone else get other symptoms with it? I’ve had nausea, sore & swollen boobs, spots, severe fatigue and brain fog. I’ve had to do pregnancy tests as I seemed to have all the symptoms. Dr has done blood tests to rule out any other possible cause. I’ve reported on yellow card thing.

My 17 year old daughter had Pfizer and was given a letter asking her to sign into the Report System - they're doing that for a sample apparently.

One of the questions was when she'd last had a period so seems to be something they're now monitoring.
