Pfizer & Period Problems

Hi, I had first pfizer jab and had a late period then just had second one this week and it's bought my period on early! Any ideas what's going on?! Or maybe it's just me. Seems a coincidence though.

Mine was five days late and really, really heavy Sad

It's a common complaint apparently!

StarDrawers · 12/08/2021 21:07

It's not in the leaflet. Bit of a relief to know im not alone. I might talk to dr if it doesn't sort itself out.

Mine was early and really light Confused Don’t know if linked to vaccine or just coincidence.

niceupthedanceagain · 12/08/2021 21:15

I've been bleeding most days for the last 2 months, very unusual for me

NannyDorothy · 12/08/2021 21:15

I've had the J&J and first cycle was very short with my period only 1 day long. I've became pregnant that very month after 2 years of trying. Not sure if it's a coincidence or what but there seems to be many women experiencing this.

I had a random period for a day two weeks early and then the next one I was 6 days late after my second vaccine.

I’ve reported it on the yellow card website

Ok thanks, should I report it now or wait until it goes back to normal.

I've had spotting which I don't normally get, I was four days late on one, three days early on another, then currently waiting for this one, should have come on today, I'm usually like clockwork...

aiwndud · 12/08/2021 21:53

Mine have been completely unchanged with both jabs.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 12/08/2021 21:59

I have only had my first dose as decided against my second. It's 9 weeks since the first and I have had 4 periods so far with another one about to rear its head if my usual symptoms are anything to go by.

I have reported and tried the GP. I am so knackered only getting a little bit of a break between them. It's awful

nevergoesaway · 12/08/2021 22:22

I had the heaviest period of my life just after my first Pfizer vaccine a month ago, I then had another one just under 3 weeks later when normally I’m as regular as clockwork. That one was extremely heavy too! I’m hoping they’re not all going to be like that from now on Confused

That sounds horrendous.
StarDrawers · 12/08/2021 22:27

Oh that sounds so bad! I'm concerned about what the next few days is going to bring now. Thank you for sharing, I'll speak to GP if things don't settle down.

First jab I had no side effects and no effect on my period, though it was very close to due date. I had my second a month later, on 3rd August and period is now over a week late I think, and with no sign of it appearing. I also had a sore arm and a day of feeling like shite after the second jab.

Apparently the ovaries have a lot of immune receptors in them, which I suppose makes sense - your body wouldn't want to get pregnant while fighting off a virus.

I mean, my chickens are barely laying at the moment because it's very hot (we have hot summers where I live), so their ovulation cycles must be very sensitive to stressors. They won't lay after a fright either (e.g. strange dog getting into the garden).

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 12/08/2021 22:30

This is my usual totm so I'm hoping this one will be normal and go back to my usual 28 day cycle. It has honestly been hell. More because I don't know when it's going to go back to normal

FuchMyLife · 12/08/2021 22:38

This is scary, hope your cycles straighten out🤞

StarDrawers · 12/08/2021 22:41

@TheLeadbetterLife that makes sense. They should put it in the leaflet though.

StartingGrid · 12/08/2021 22:48

I was 2 weeks late with mine, reported on yellow card, due my second jab in a few days and just hoping it doesn't cause my next one to clash with my overdue smear test Sad

whyarentiskinnyet · 12/08/2021 22:50

I had AZ and had an extra unexpected period in between my usual cycle, I'm regular as clock work normal and it really caught me off guard and was defo due to the vaccine

TheLeadbetterLife · 12/08/2021 23:00
@TheLeadbetterLife that makes sense. They should put it in the leaflet though.
Yes probably, although I suppose there hasn’t been a study on this specific thing yet. I’m not worried about it anyway, I’m sure it’ll sort itself out.

BaronessBomburst · 12/08/2021 23:01

Had Pfizer on day one of my cycle. Started spotting by day 11, and a horrendous full on period by day 17. Very heavy with really bad cramps.
Had my second jab and was a week late, still heavier than usual but nothing like the first one.
I've reported it but no-one seems interested.

BoxHedge · 13/08/2021 14:36

I reported a slight period irregularity on the yellow card website.

Only if everyone reports it can they work out if it’s statistically a coincidence, or related to the vaccine.

There's no way everyone's can be a coincidence surely? I shall report it. Is it best to do that once its all sorted itself out?
