Hi,

I’ve just taken this lateral flow and this was the result, is this positive or inconclusive?
I did repeat the test and had a negative, I’ve also ordered a PCR.

Is this positive lateral flow?

@FromTheAshes I'm not sure apart from maybe faulty tests. There was a program on TV before about the shit show going on in the testing labs with all the recent grads just doing a half assed job so I'd perhaps guess that the PCR wasn't processed correctly? Or the swab didn't manage to catch anything or faulty LFT I suppose. Its interesting though!

@Samcj02 please let us know, will be interesting if it's a negative!

daphnedoo12 · 01/08/2021 08:41

Good luck op, hope you're feeling okay

BlueorOlive · 01/08/2021 08:48

Good luck OP.

On a different note, anyone remember when a squinting thread would only ever be on the conception board? Sad

Samcj02 · 01/08/2021 10:35

Still waiting on pcr results, over 24 hours now (but we do have a spike in our area) I have developed a cough and I’m very tired 😴 I’ll update once I’ve received them.

I can see a faint line. I'd still take a PCR

clickychicky · 01/08/2021 11:46

@BlueorOlive

Yes those were the days.
TheBestCandidateByFar · 01/08/2021 11:49

Both of those are positive tests.

I hope you're feeling better soon

Samcj02 · 01/08/2021 13:26

Thanks everyone! Everyone’s been so helpful.. I’m still waiting for my results! I’m getting slightly paranoid, has anyone had one of these before, he said he didn’t need our codes to scan on the way out when we handed our tests in is this right?
Worried about our tests now as in our area result turnaround is usually very quick x

@Samcj02 my family have done 3 drive through PCRs, two were back 20 hours later, the other 8 hours.

Just sent off 2 home pcrs by post (would have been collected 4pm yesterday according to the post box) and results were back at half 8 this morning

kimlo · 01/08/2021 13:40

when I've done (many many) tests at a walk through they have always scaned the qr code and the barcode on the card at the end.

You can ring 119 and find out if it was registered though. Of not and you still have the card they can do it for you.

I've just had the same thing yesterday, faint line but isolated and had a pcr test yesterday, it's just come back negative though.

Good luck with yours

kimlo · 01/08/2021 13:50

I would ring 119 then and check.

It's not an issue if you have the information. I know someone who didn't register a home test, as soon as she rang the results came through.

Thanks I’ll give them a call to see what’s going on!

I had a similar one, very faint, the very next morning I did another, which was clearly negative, no hint of a line! I sent off for PCR and just had a negative result through today.

Darbs76 · 01/08/2021 15:53

It looks positive to me, mine were like that at first. A line is a line

Samcj02 · 01/08/2021 16:59

I’ve called 119 and been told I need to wait 3 days until they’ll look into them being lost 😭x

I had a disaster like this with the postal tests. I was first told to wait 3 days before they would chase and then o was told 5. On day 5 they told me no results still and to retest but I miraculously got my results an hour to so after the phone call!
The test was for my 4 year old who was so traumatised following the test so retesting wasn't an option. They said I would just have to isolate. Absolutely ridiculous process!
I feel for you OP. Could you go and have a second test via a drive through?

I think that’s what we will do if we’ve not got a result tomorrow. I know we are isolating anyway but my workplace needs confirmation of my result 😭x

I had a test on Friday. He didn't scan qr code and the results took 37 hours

november90 · 01/08/2021 20:23

Bless you OP. It's so unbelievably frustrating and worrying. If you don't have the test I. The morning I personally would get tested again!

Yes I think I will do! I mean I’m 99% certain it’ll be positive. It’s frustrating when my employer needs the result! But I guess they’ll just have to wait!! X
