His child tested positive at lunchtime but he was in Parliament today?

OP posts:

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo

Might have been a lateral flow test done at lunchtime after symptoms appeared, came up positive and then he was told by his wife and went home. No way of knowing yet whether he was aware of symptoms before leaving the house this morning.

This is what I assumed had happened

@NannyAndJohn

He's a fucking joke who will be the death of the Labour Party.

Opposition my arse.

Nanny! I agree with you! You said something I agree with Grin

Labour tanked in the last election anyway.

Not sure Starmer can turn it around though. Shame but we’ll see

Againstmachine · 21/07/2021 20:41

Very convenient Starmer doing the right thing after boris didn't, and if anyone thinks politics is above it they aren't.

It is outrageous that Starmer has done the right thing. Doesn't he know that he will never become Prime Minister by doing the right thing.
Wildewoodz · 21/07/2021 21:06

Starmer strikes me as a cautious person. His wife is a nurse. It’s perfectly possible they booked a PCR and took an lft in the meantime out of caution. Especially PCR tests are taking ages right now.

Is she? I thought she was a lawyer!?
AnotherDayAnotherCake · 21/07/2021 21:13

Positive LFT at lunchtime = he did the right thing.
Symptomatic child or waiting for a PRC result = he should have been at home.
I’d be interested in hearing a few more details about this positive result.

So convenient he is doing the right thing Hmm

The point is this might be manufactured, rather than real.

TokyoSushi · 21/07/2021 21:33

I would assume that the child woke up after he left for work and subsequently had a positive lateral flow due to symptoms this morning.

To have gone in while the child was waiting on the result of a PCR would have been very irresponsible!

(another post that would have made zero sense 18 months ago!)

I have the sad news that he is a thoroughly nice and fairly boring guy. He is a good friend of my husband’s best friend. Which is why he will never succeed.

But honestly he’s not the one pissing about with COVID tests. We all know who is though

MercyBooth · 21/07/2021 21:55

He could make use of his isolation time by picking the splinters out of his arse caused by all the fences he sits on.

Re Boris isolating I bet his 1s thought was "" yes, mini holiday at chequers "then thought that was too obvious so decided to pretend he was not going.. Then out rage.. You must isolate..

Lovely few days at chequers, unscheduled here we come.

frumpety · 21/07/2021 22:18

Labour are currently Tory lite

Or you could call the Tories , Labour lite, after the fiscal decisions of the last 16 months Wink

Can you imagine if Labour had been in power and been responsible for paying a good chunk of the populations wages for over a year, the hysteria and outcry would have been a thing of wonder !

He's a hypocrite bangs on about masks but swanned about at many of the euros games without.

And don't forget during his tenure at the CPS Rotherham was ignored.

@Howshouldibehave

She was but she now works for the nhs. He’s mentioned it a few times. Some reports say nurse and some occupational health but it’s definitely nhs.
