I'm due to have my 2nd Pfizer vaccine in a few weeks. I felt a bit rough after the first, a horrible headache and felt a bit hungover but mainly the next day. What have people felt after the second? Just wondering whether to take an overtime shift that afternoon, I'll he having the jab in the morning.

I had a sore arm after the first one, then just a sore arm again with the second one. I was TTC when I had my first, and 16 weeks pregnant when I had my second.

Crackingowlsanctuary · 21/07/2021 17:58

Not bad at all, just a bit tired for a few days (felt like I wanted a nap every afternoon) and I had a lymph node come up on my collarbone on the side I had the jab but that went down within a few days. Nothing terrible.

Little bit of achy arm. Bit tired so went to bed early.
Back to normal next day

Crunchymum · 21/07/2021 18:23

Fine, not even a sore arm (and sore arm was all I had after the first jab)

doublemix · 21/07/2021 19:33

Awful. I was shivering but boiling hot, nausea and headaches and generally felt awful for 24 hours if I hadn't had the jab I would have thought there was something seriously wrong. Only had a sore arm after the 1st jab.

I had mine about 11.30am and woke up about 4am completely dehydrated- my mouth was like sandpaper and I had a terrible migraine with nausea and a fever. I did not manage to get back to sleep til about 11.30am, slept for two hours and felt better. I needed painkillers for my head for another 12 hours but the nausea and fever had gone and it was more like a normal headache.

First jab I was pretty much fine, slight headache.

I have also had covid, so don’t know if that made a difference.

Following with interest. I've been double jabbed with AZ (fine with first, wipes out with second) but dp is due second dose of Pfizer very soon - he was absolutely fine with the first one but worried he may get ill with the second!

AnotherEmma · 21/07/2021 19:40

I had my second Pfizer jab yesterday morning. Felt fine for the rest of the day and arm started to feel a bit sore in the evening. I feel pretty rough today. Achy, tired, headache. Didn't do much this morning, managed to do a few things this afternoon.

I remember feeling completely wiped out the day after my first jab, it only lasted a day though. So I'm hoping I'll feel better tomorrow 🤞

Good luck with yours!

I had mine on friday morning. By around tea time I had a bad head and felt flu like. I woke up in the night feeling quite rotten and it continued until about tea time and then started to noticeably improve. Was fine by sunday. My DP had his on saturday. He woke up on sunday with a headache, went to play golf but had to stop and come home because it got much worse. After a sleep he felt better! We both felt unwell after the first one too, and have both had covid

Crazysheep · 21/07/2021 20:03

Had mine earlier today, slept all afternoon on the sofa. Woke up with a start so must have been in a proper deep sleep. Feel a bit ropey which I didn't after my first but DD and DN have both been loaded with cold (PCR negative before anyone asks) so I might just be getting that.

3womeninaboat · 21/07/2021 20:09

First one no effects. Second I had fever and chills after 12 hours. Felt horrible the next day and couldn’t work. Whole body pins and needles the next morning then suddenly back to normal.

Spyro1234 · 21/07/2021 20:46

Anyone have any issues with periods ??

irresistibleoverwhelm · 21/07/2021 21:11

Had my 2nd Pfizer yesterday. First one I had a very very sore arm for just over 24hrs; nothing else. This time I have a slightly less sore arm, but generalised muscle and joint aches and feel v v tired - absolutely exhausted. Have literally just been on the sofa all day and about to go to sleep soon! Hoping I won’t feel quite this bad tomorrow as DD is off school isolating and driving me mad in this heat.

dudsville · 21/07/2021 21:12

I had no symptoms except for the sore arm.

Justkeepleft · 21/07/2021 21:14

Felt fine after both. Just sore at the injection site but nothing unusual.

PegasusReturns · 21/07/2021 21:19

No reaction to first, day after second I felt dreadful. Fever, nausea, splitting headache. My actual burns hurt. Lasted about 36 hours.

bluetongue · 21/07/2021 21:31

I had fever and chills for about 12 hours and took a day off work but have felt worse with a cold and once it lifted I was fine.

3womeninaboat · 22/07/2021 20:31

Oh I forgot the insomnia, which lasted 4–5 days. I have never been unable to sleep except for when pregnant. Googled it and apparently it’s a thing.

DowntonCrabby · 22/07/2021 20:32

Almost completely fine, just the sore arm.

anon12345678901 · 22/07/2021 21:19

I had a sore arm with both jabs but that's it. Had it one afternoon, in the gym the next morning 😂 And no issues with my periods with either, still bang on time and the same duration as normal.

Crazysheep · 24/07/2021 15:31

Has anyone else had a burning face? My body feels cold but my face is on fire and has been ever since my 2nd vaccine on Wednesday. Its not a sunburn type sensation its how I imagine a hot flush would feel.sort of from the inside. Very strange.

chesterelly · 24/07/2021 15:51

I had diarrhoea, which couldve been a coincidence but if you google it is on the list of side effects. No way could I have gone to work

riveted1 · 24/07/2021 16:46

arms and legs a little achey the next day but went away quickly with paracetamol, otherwise absolutely fine

am very headache prone so was pleased with this outcome Grin

Thewindsofchange · 24/07/2021 16:58

After the first one I felt tired when I got home (crashed on the sofa for about an hour) and had a sore arm for a few days (felt like I'd been punched really hard). Had an odd period type thing after a couple of weeks (I've got the coil so this is unusual- assumed it was due to the jab but can't be certain).
After the second (last week) I was completely fine. Arm only hurt if I poked it (which I did to make sure I'd actually had it!!).

Throughthedragonseye · 01/08/2021 08:06

I had my second yesterday, felt absolutely fine. Feel a bit rough and tired this morning, but I think that's because I had a few gins last night and 2 kids that wake up early! Grin So nothing apart from a sore arm to report from here.
