How long are tests currently taking?

Just wondered with all these cases if tests are taking a while to come back?

How long have people waited this week?

Someone from work had a family member test 5:30pm Friday afternoon, came back 11am this morning so about 65 hours.

In my bubble we're still waiting on a test done just after 8am Saturday morning. Both at regional walk-in/drive-in testing sites.

Seems mad some people have had postal tests sent off and back quicker than this!

A lot of people will just stop isolating. Especially if their symptoms go quickly. Can't blame them really.

We took one Friday afternoon in Stevenage and am still awaiting results.

Still waiting, 4 days after posting.

I spent half an hour talking to 119. It's registered but no results on the system. I think that means it's lost. I asked if I should order another test & was told 'if I want to'.

They will try & trace it & will contact me within 72 hours - my 10 days of isolation will be up by then anyway.

So, I've used my own scientific method of guessing I'm positive based on the DCs positive results, a positive lateral flow test & having all the covid symptoms.

Sympathetic that presumably the processing places have the same issues with staff being positive or isolating as everywhere else, but you do need to determine whether people are positive or not to actually get the ball rolling on tracing contacts etc. In our case it's a toddler who started coughing Friday night, and has been off food/sick a bit. He goes to a childminder Mon-Thur, so has the childminders and several other children he was with in the two days before he got symptoms. If he's positive then they need to know as it's probably half a dozen families who are impacted!

Update - the Saturday morning one just came through, took 55 hours in the end. Thankfully negative!

Had mine 12 yesterday, still waiting.

Regardless of result as I’m a close contact I’ve been told I have to isolate for the full 10 days.

Family member about 3 weeks ago had theirs back in just under 12 hours.

57 hours and counting...

Just DS’s result (negative, phew). East London, mobile drive through. Test yesterday 11:30, result 31 hours later.

54hrs Saturday to Monday, drive in. (-ve)

Ours came in after 55 hours and was unfortunately positive.

Just had mine earlier after 32hrs (positive)

Mine took 11 hours (negative) However ds, who was tested at the same time, is still waiting, 30 hours so far. How does that work?
Our whole house is in limbo waiting for the results.

Unbelievably only 9 hours (positive) North East England. Although daughter tested at same time and still waiting for hers still only 9.5 hours post test though so can't complain!

Just got ours. 70 hours. Negative.

50 hours. Negative. East anglia

46 hours - London - Negative

Ds had one last week that came back in about 14 hours. Dd had one over the weekend that came back in about 12. Thankfully, both negative.

Anyone else still waiting? DD had test Tues at 11.30am and we're now at the 36 hour mark....how often do the drive thru mobile test units get tests collected and sent to the lab, does anyone know? I'd assumed there were several drops a day but perhaps not.

Negative result came through in just over 43 hours from test to result.
