Just wondered with all these cases if tests are taking a while to come back?

How long have people waited this week?

Received postal PCR Thursday around 3pm, posted it back in a priority post box just after 4pm the same afternoon. Results (negative) came through yesterday (Saturday) 4pm by text and email. Hope yours come through soon, I wish there had been a thread like this when I was frantically checking my phone Smile

Darbs76 · 18/07/2021 20:50

DD tested Monday 12th as temp was 38.2 in school. Tested at 2.30pm, results at 07.20am (negative)
DS tested Wednesday 14th after positive LFT Tuesday evening and developing a cough. Result came in 6am ish (positive)
I tested today at 9am, waiting on results. They said can take 72hrs but mainly around 24hrs now. So yep all under 24hrs for me so far. Hope my result is the same

SaborDeSoledad · 18/07/2021 21:00

Postal test posted in time for 4pm dropoff on Wednesday. Results at 10am Friday, so 42 hours in total.

AnotherDayAnotherCake · 18/07/2021 21:01

28 hours in London (negative).
Postal ones take longer.

LucyLastik · 18/07/2021 21:09

Tested yesterday at 1pm. Still waiting

Takemetothebeachclub · 18/07/2021 22:14

Less than 3 hours in Coventry today!

sfeirical · 18/07/2021 22:19

Liverpool - 12-24 hours.

OttilieStonelady · 19/07/2021 07:02

Still waiting. That's 47 hours now.

Nicnic91 · 19/07/2021 07:45

Posted 1.30pm Sat results 5.30pm Sun

Lemongrass6 · 19/07/2021 07:47

Tested at 10am Saturday. Still waiting so getting on for 48 hrs. (Drive through test centre)

theologianextradionaire · 19/07/2021 07:57

13 hours which was impressive!

OttilieStonelady · 19/07/2021 08:18

I know someone who has been waiting 4 days and his temp has subsided and he is feeling completely normal again so has chosen to go to work today without the result. Not what I would do but can't blame people for taking that decision.

Nc13t765tyrv · 19/07/2021 08:58

My 2 year old had a temperature Thursday night/Friday morning- booked test Friday at 10.30, we have been isolating since. Still nothing! Ive had to phone in work again today (teacher) and feel so anxious about it! We are South West. I was told to phone if we hadnt heard after 48 hours, but when I phoned was told to phone back after 72 hours. Really flipping hoping theyre not lost Sad

sheusesmagazines · 19/07/2021 10:50

We tested DS yesterday at 11:30 (drive through), still waiting. Some of the wait times on this thread are worrying! Longest we’ve waited (5 previous tests) is 33 hours. Neither of us can work from home so it’s annoying!

MadameRanevskaya · 19/07/2021 10:59

I posted yesterday about a test taken on Friday at lunchtime. Results finally came through this morning just shy of 72 hours.

Pumpkinpops · 19/07/2021 11:07

@MadameRanevskaya you give me hope, I took mine on Friday lunchtime too and still waiting to hear. I really bloody hope I get it soon. I'm beginning to assume they've lost it.

r0ck · 19/07/2021 11:10

Tested yesterday at 1.30pm and had results today at 10am. Was expecting a far longer wait! (Mobile unit at a drive-in)

Kimblebee19 · 19/07/2021 11:55

Drive through test at 11.30am Saturday for DS and DH, still waiting over 48 hours later.

20viona · 19/07/2021 11:59

Mine took 12 hours

rumncoke · 19/07/2021 12:02

DS tested Saturday at 10am, drive through, still no results, he’s fine today but obviously had to phone him in sick. Just tried phoning for results and automated message said can’t give test results due to the high number of calls .

NormaSnorks · 19/07/2021 12:04

15 hours for us at the weekend

lavenderlou · 19/07/2021 12:30

Been 50 hours for us now. Lots of us seem to be waiting from Saturday morning so there must be a backlog.

OttilieStonelady · 19/07/2021 12:51

51 hours now 😩

TwitterTwatterofTinyMinds · 19/07/2021 13:12

24 hours here for me (this weekend) and DC (last weekend - thanks for sharing kiddo!)

givemushypeasachance · 19/07/2021 13:35

Someone from work had a family member test 5:30pm Friday afternoon, came back 11am this morning so about 65 hours.

In my bubble we're still waiting on a test done just after 8am Saturday morning. Both at regional walk-in/drive-in testing sites.

Seems mad some people have had postal tests sent off and back quicker than this!
