I'm 34 no health conditions and I have had vaccines.
My good friend and her mum have declined (which is their own choice no judgement ) yet every time we meet she is throwing shade my way.
I don't know how to respond

  • sheep getting the jab cos Boris said so *a rushed un safe jab *all about control
  • people who've had the jab are still ill and dying *putting poison in your body when you don't know what's in it *wait till the side effects in yours to come *if we need a covid passport to go in shops etc il order online

What or how do I respond to it ?
I don't judge her choices so why judge mine

Tell them to stay away from you.
Tell them you didn't realise they were so selfish.

@DismantledKing

‘Fuck off you thick conspiracy theorist arsehole’ That should do it.
This would be my go to.

Then I'd find a new friend more in keeping with my beliefs

Mandalay246 · 17/07/2021 06:17

Or failing that “fuck off”?

I would go with that - she sounds very childish and I wouldn't consider someone who spoke to me like that a friend.

I cut contact with people who say things like this, fundamentally we don't agree so it wasn't worth my time. If they don't believe in science and believe stupid shit there's no hope.

faithfulbird20 · 17/07/2021 06:24

I know someone like this who shit their pants when they thought they caught coronavirus. It was hilarious.

Gingerkittykat · 17/07/2021 06:49

I have a friend who calls people sheep for getting vaxed.

I simply pointed out that I have bodily autonomy and used the available information to make an informed choice based on my personal circumstances. He weighed up the information available and made a different choice.

If he had continued being an arsehole I would simply limit contact since I don't have the mental energy to argue with anti vaxers.

Baycitystroller · 17/07/2021 07:11

You say ‘no judgment’ towards her…..sorry I would be judging the hell out of someone like that. Has she had mmr? diphtheria and polio? Has she been abroad and taken vaccinations to keep her safe?

Sorry. She’s an idiot.

CupoTeap · 17/07/2021 08:19

You just say that you both have different opinions and you f do I think want to talk about it any further

TheTallOakTrees · 17/07/2021 09:42

Boring, baaaaaaaaa

Why do you mix with such thick individuals

Yep. Idiots like that need judgement. The thick ones that shout sheeple are judging people that are trying to find a way out of this mess.

The anti vax have no solutions

This too. Why bother with people that repeat crap from YouTube . Life is too short to bother to argue with stupid

I don't discuss the vaccine with anyone IRL.
I just tell them I don't get into discussions about it any more as it gets too heated.
I got my vaccine on Thursday. I'm in another country and the roll out has been slower. I was priority group 7 so this really was the first opportunity I had to get it. I've had family members in the UK sending me really obnoxious emails about me not being vaccinated (even though it was not possible for me to have it). I'm to blame for the delta variant killing elderly people like them apparently. They decided I was an anti-vaxxer etcetc which I am not.
I've also had people in this country having a go at me and no amount of saying that my priority group hasn't been vaccinated yet has made any difference whatsoever.

Then I've had people at the other extreme going on at me about how I shouldn't get vaccinated because microchips, Bill Gates, gene modification, who knows what else..

About 2 months ago I decided just to shut down any conversation about vaccines with "I don't discuss the vaccine. It's my private business".

I'm going to keep saying that even though I have now been vaccinated.

Just tell your friend you don't wish to discuss it anymore as she has her opinion and you have yours. If she continues I'd be reducing contact with her to be honest. Couldn't be doing with it.

Explain that the biggest sheep are conspiracy theorists. They think they're engaging in critical thinking when reallh they're just gullible and susceptible to believing absolute bs as long as some pleb on youtube or facebook tells them it makes them smarter than the believing the 'official narrative' aka reality.
