Being called a "sheep" for getting vaccine ..what would you say?

I'm 34 no health conditions and I have had vaccines.
My good friend and her mum have declined (which is their own choice no judgement ) yet every time we meet she is throwing shade my way.
I don't know how to respond

  • sheep getting the jab cos Boris said so *a rushed un safe jab *all about control
  • people who've had the jab are still ill and dying *putting poison in your body when you don't know what's in it *wait till the side effects in yours to come *if we need a covid passport to go in shops etc il order online

What or how do I respond to it ?
I don't judge her choices so why judge mine

Baaaa. There are many sensible answers which she doesn't sound likely to listen to. She's a dick.

Iknowtheanswer · 16/07/2021 14:45

You don't actually need to say anything, it's nothing to do with anyone else.

For your info though, I am double jabbed, colleague is 25 years younger than me and single jabbed. We both have Covid at the moment. She is really ill. I just have a cold.

Get the jab.

Thank you for getting vaccinated; you are helping the country to stay open(ish).

Personally I feel a lot more confident that I won't be hospitalised this year. Covid is rife round here. Equally I hope that I am less likely to spread the disease to others. Time will tell.

I have a very good friend who is very anti vac and very very worried about 5G (haven't bothered to let her know there are masts all over the town). It is "off topic". It's her choice, albeit a daft choice, and it isn't currently harming me.

I'm in pinged isolation at the moment, but pubs/coffee shops and hotels here are having to shut due to lack of "safe" staff. I anticipate that they will nearly all be asking for proof of vaccine when they reopen - they can't keep having to shut.

It will be interesting to see how many people change their minds about vaccines then.

MurielSpriggs · 16/07/2021 14:49

It is called herd immunity, so there's some basis in what she's saying.

Is being a sheep necessarily a bad thing? The reason sheep stick together is because they increase their chances of survival.

I'd just agree with her.

PickAChew · 16/07/2021 14:49

I would tell them to stop bleating on and mind their own fucking business.

Zilla1 · 16/07/2021 14:53

If you are feeling spikey, you could reply - 'I think sheep seem to have more brains than some of the anti-vaxxers'. When they get angry, ask them why they thought you were specifically talking about them as you said 'some' - are they worried they might not have made the best decision about things they don't understand?

Good luck.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 16/07/2021 14:55

Answer everything she says to you with 'baaah' until she's incredibly pissed off.

QweenJinx · 16/07/2021 14:55

A good friend is throwing shade? Girl, get a new friend ☝🏼

Megasausagehead · 16/07/2021 14:55

Another baaaaaah here

gamerchick · 16/07/2021 14:56

@Londoncatshed

Bahhhhh
Pretty much my thoughts Grin
FlorenceWintle · 16/07/2021 14:57

Yes. Even on any SM she woffles on about it. Same response every time. It'll really wind her up.
Kanaloa · 16/07/2021 14:58

Just ‘shut it I never asked your opinion.’ She sounds rude and trying to push her views on others. It’s not really her business what you’ve chosen to do.

Biancadelrioisback · 16/07/2021 14:58

Bah bah bitch

I wouldn't entertain anyone's criticism of my decision to get vaccinated with anything more than a snort of derision.

Kanaloa · 16/07/2021 15:00

Oh thought of another actually - every time she starts just reply ‘lol ok.’

nocoolnamesleft · 16/07/2021 15:02

Tell her to flock off?

ComDummings · 16/07/2021 15:03

🐑

TheReluctantPhoenix · 16/07/2021 15:03

Tell her that you will discuss it again after she has had her vaccine, which she inevitably will within the next year.

Life will get easier and easier for the vaccinated and harder and harder for those who reject it.

Micemakingclothes · 16/07/2021 15:03

Is respond by saying that either the subject is off limits or you are free to respond with all the reasons friends choice to skip the vaccine is wrong.

GlencoraP · 16/07/2021 15:03

I think I would just tell them not to be ridiculous and that it’s your body and your decision

DismantledKing · 16/07/2021 15:04

‘Fuck off you thick conspiracy theorist arsehole’
That should do it.

safariboot · 16/07/2021 15:04

"Fuck off" is what I would say.

ItsVousNotMoi · 16/07/2021 15:05

Ask her if she could tell you about Measles? Or Rubella? Or Whooping cough? No? That's because we have all been vaccinated.

I seriously believe if Covid manifested itself like Small Pox, IE lots of grim pustules all over your face and body, they would have the vaccine. No question. But because it is 'hidden' in your lung it's less to think about
