Just that really!

My exh was always against medicine eg when dc were poorly he wouldn’t give them calpol so I had to. Then last year he believes he caught covid skiing. He couldn’t be tested as it was March but had breathing problems for months. Now he has been saying for months ‘if I get my jab now it might delay someone else getting it who wants it more’ or ‘I’ve already had covid’ It’s so frustrating because his parents are both cev and likely to stay shielding so they are too scared to see him even in the garden.

In some countries (Canada and Germany that I know of), if you've had Covid they only give you one dose of vaccine, which seems a bit rum to me but I don't know why that is.

CambsAlways · 16/07/2021 10:30

It’s a question like any other question asked on a forum, no agenda whatsoever! Interested to know of other peoples experiences across the board

Yes my son and his girlfriend, both 22, both could have had Pfizer in May, both don't trust the vaccine, both got Delta variant now, son's girlfriend very ill with it, son saying he just feels like he has a cold (don't know if I believe him). They caught it off someone who has had both vaccines and Covid 3 times and has been really ill with it each time. Hearing of loads of people with Covid who have been double jagged and really ill, don't know what to make of the whole thing really. Yes, I know, we would all be more ill if we weren't vaccinated, but it really is rubbish.

@Brabraboo

Friends of the family have this. Whole household has tested positive. She’s refused to be tested but is increasingly unwell now. Visibly struggling to breathe, hasn’t been able to walk etc. Family have said she looks really frighteningly unwell, she’s grey and weak and looks like she should be in a hospital but won’t be convinced to seek medical help because ‘theyl just lie and say it’s Covid’ and Covid doesn’t exist. She thinks ‘they’ will use the opportunity to drug her with ‘experimental treatments and vaccines’ so she will not entertain a doctor. Family have several times considered an ambulance but she refuses and they are basically waiting and saying theyl phone one if she is unconscious. Which they are fully expecting to happen. It’s sounds such a terrifying situation which started out with her just insisting she had a cold, then a chest infection and now she’s too weak to properly argue what she believes it IS despite the whole house having tested positive. The tests are lies of course. They apparently test for cold viruses to trick us all.
Oh my goodness this is awful, how old is the person refusing treatment if you don't mind me asking ? So sad that they are this scared to seek treatment and would suffer

Several work colleagues have had Covid but refuse the vaccine. We are a small team of 13. We are professional front line workers and have worked in a client facing role throughout the pandemic.

Between us 3 family members have died directly from Covid. We are all over 50.

They will still not get the vaccine. I am pretty pissed off tbh. I know we have rights as individuals etc.

CambsAlways · 16/07/2021 11:37

I hope this person above post who is so petrified gets the help she deserves! So very sad that she will refuse help regardless of how she is feeling, still in denial, heartbreaking

I struggle to think of anyone I "know" who has had covid -- cousins who live 5000 miles away & I last saw in 2018?

I know even less about anyone's vaccination status.

HelloMissus · 16/07/2021 12:19

A member of my extended family had Covid late last year (well they all did). And he wasn’t very unwell at all. So now he’s refusing the vaccine. To be fair he has additional needs, so there isn’t much convincing him.

XenoBitch · 16/07/2021 15:14

*Interesting. Is their reasoning that they are now protected?

I know someone who's just tested positive a second time, and double vaxxed 😬*

I am not sure. All I know is that she does not want it (neither does her teen son).

CrunchyCarrot · 16/07/2021 15:33

Yes, me. And not for tin foil hat reasons!

Bananarice · 16/07/2021 15:43

Yes, I know a few people. Why?

sulee · 16/07/2021 15:47

Yes a few through my work. One is currently in ICU.

XenoBitch · 16/07/2021 15:55

Didn't OP ask about people who have already had COvid and are now declining the vaccine. Not people who declined the vaccine and now have Covid.
Am confused by some of the replies.

User3billion · 16/07/2021 15:59

Yes, a few people.

And there's always an agenda.

A friend almost died of Covid in March. He was in hospital for weeks and had a PE. He was offered the vaccine in December as he's a doctor, he didn't refuse it, but did faf around and kept delaying it.

He's had his vaccine now.
