Just that really!

OP posts:
XenoBitch · 15/07/2021 23:00

Yes, I know someone. She suspected she had had Covid a long time ago and it was confirmed by an antibody test.

Booger123 · 15/07/2021 23:02

Yes, 3.

All in the over 50’s age range. Isolated after positive test. No worse than a bad cold, two had delta. Only one had mild smell loss.

They still won’t get the vaccine.

LegoLady95 · 15/07/2021 23:08

Yes, my DH, 42. Had covid in December. Won't have the vaccine.

MrsKeats · 15/07/2021 23:10

Yes my dds boyfriend's mum.
Was very ill with covid and still won't get the vaccine.

Tinpotspectator · 15/07/2021 23:18

Not me. I had covid quite badly last year, and I wouldn't even have considered not having it.

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 15/07/2021 23:44

Yes, me

bumbleymummy · 16/07/2021 00:20

People who have had the virus are likely to be immune for at least 8 months according to several studies. Ireland recently updated its guidance for presumptive immunity up to 8 months after infection.

bumbleymummy · 16/07/2021 00:21

Ireland updated to 9* months

Serenschintte · 16/07/2021 00:23

Where I live (European country) one of the reasons govt give not to vaccinate it because you have confirmed case of Covid I. Last 9 months - w PCR test

ResIpsaLoquiturInterAlia · 16/07/2021 00:27

Yes but sadly all four no longer alive.

Brabraboo · 16/07/2021 09:02

Friends of the family have this. Whole household has tested positive. She’s refused to be tested but is increasingly unwell now. Visibly struggling to breathe, hasn’t been able to walk etc. Family have said she looks really frighteningly unwell, she’s grey and weak and looks like she should be in a hospital but won’t be convinced to seek medical help because ‘theyl just lie and say it’s Covid’ and Covid doesn’t exist. She thinks ‘they’ will use the opportunity to drug her with ‘experimental treatments and vaccines’ so she will not entertain a doctor. Family have several times considered an ambulance but she refuses and they are basically waiting and saying theyl phone one if she is unconscious. Which they are fully expecting to happen. It’s sounds such a terrifying situation which started out with her just insisting she had a cold, then a chest infection and now she’s too weak to properly argue what she believes it IS despite the whole house having tested positive. The tests are lies of course. They apparently test for cold viruses to trick us all.

Brabraboo · 16/07/2021 09:06

Also less dramatic, but a friend from my school days was in hospital last week with it. I know everyone says this but he’s the fittest guy I know and is a real gym bunny. 33 years old with two little girls, didn’t get jab as he didn’t think he would need it, his body is a temple he says, and he had an incredibly healthy lifestyle so his immune system is at its peak apparently.
He was laughing and joking on social media about the positive test and seemed to have it mildly but took a strange turn overnight and thankfully phoned an ambulance. Oxygen levels had plummeted very quickly and he became very unwell in a few hours.

To be fair he’s not hooked on a ventilator etc. He’s simply been given oxygen, steroids and immunosuppressive medication because his body has basically gone into overdrive fighting the virus and his heart etc were all struggling. He’s conscious and able to talk etc so he’s not dying but was hospitalised

livingwithbees · 16/07/2021 09:08

Yes, me. Refused the vaccine for now.

LtDansleg · 16/07/2021 09:09

Me and my oh

Mrstreehouse · 16/07/2021 09:12

I know someone, fell runner, super fit. Has long covid now and can barely walk anywhere without being fatigued.

livingwithbees · 16/07/2021 09:17

@CambsAlways why the question?

YukoandHiro · 16/07/2021 09:20

@Brabraboo That sounds such a distressing situation. What age is she? Does she have children? I cannot understand how people end up so utterly brainwashed that they are actively encouraging their own death or disability

Brabraboo · 16/07/2021 09:36

@yukoandhiro it’s sounding awful. We don’t know how to help so have sent flowers. They did phone the GP but Theyv refused to come out because she does have the right to refuse treatment and is not under any obligation to be tested or treated. She HAS the rights she’s been marching to protect… and she’s possibly going to die because she’s so convinced they are under threat when they just aren’t. The nhs will allow her to deteriorate and die at home rather than force treatment.
I’m quite shocked they can’t use the mental capacity angle and say she’s clearly not able to make this decision but GP had said she is perfectly able and entitled to this choice.

She’s 55 and her four kids are all in 30s. Seven little grandchildren too. No one in that family had the vaccine as they were all scathing of it. I would place money Theyv all booked in now for a jab.

YukoandHiro · 16/07/2021 09:41

Well oddly if the worst does happen that might be the one good thing to come out of it - it might make them all question some of this ridiculous scaremongering they'd been fed by social media.

How terribly sad. I hope all the other family members pull through ok.

YukoandHiro · 16/07/2021 09:43

@Mrstreehouse Does your fell runner friend know that for some people the vaccine seems to be helping to cure or improve the symptoms of long covid? Good reason to encourage him to get it

Mrstreehouse · 16/07/2021 09:49

@yuko He is a she but yes, think she does know however doesn’t seem to trump the fear of the vaccine. Sadly some people succumb to the social media nonsense too easily.

MolyHolyGuacamole · 16/07/2021 09:50

@XenoBitch

Yes, I know someone. She suspected she had had Covid a long time ago and it was confirmed by an antibody test.
Interesting. Is their reasoning that they are now protected?

I know someone who's just tested positive a second time, and double vaxxed 😬

Mrstreehouse · 16/07/2021 09:53

@MolyHolyGuacamole I know loads of people that are double backed and have covid. I don’t understand why people still think that vaccinations prevent you getting covid? This was never in question, they hopefully the severity of the disease and reduce the chance of hospitalisations, as is being seen in the figures.

Mrstreehouse · 16/07/2021 09:54

*vaxxed!!

MolyHolyGuacamole · 16/07/2021 09:58

Well my reply was in response to the quoted comment where the OP knew someone who refused the jab as they'd already had covid.

I was pointing out that neither the virus nor the jab was protection against reinfection 🤷🏽‍♀️
