Isn't the passport thing discriminatory on age?

My two adult DC are due to have their 2nd vaccine at the end of this month, but they had the first much earlier than their age group because of caring responsibilities.

Many of their friends are just having their first now. Which means that whilst large sections of the population can merrily go about their business, once the rules re isolation change on 16 Aug, these young people continue to face repeated periods of isolation, often meaning leave from work on SSP.

Is this really OK?

Not necessarily, I'm mid-30s and booked the first appointment available when I was invited. My second one (also the first appointment available) isn't until the 15th August. So I won't be eligible to not self isolate until end of August...

It's not fair, but the young don't vote Tory so they don't care 🤷‍♀️

If it's ok to discrimate by age I think all young people should have been allowed to carry on as normal for the last year. Very few of us are likely to need to be hospitalised. We could have kept jobs, education and livelihoods.

Now we just sit at home (if we have one, house prices and rental market have gone insane) and watch old people swan off on holiday.

I'm so angry.

Oh dear 😳 Seriously

Actually I’m (relatively) old, double jabbed and can really sympathise with this. I wouldn’t be expecting the young to sacrifice themselves for the old and vulnerable this autumn/winter. The under-25s have given up a lot and, rightly or wrongly, I can see how it would seem like a kick in the teeth.
