Can I do this?

We’re self isolating as GP has requested a PCR test very late on Wednesday evening so test has been done. We live quite rural, recently moved here and no family near by. We have run out of milk and bread as we started to isolate as soon as GP said. Can I go to the shops to get these essentials as we literally have nothing to give the kids to eat and my food order is not due to 5:30pm? As we’re rural not Uber eats/just eat etc either, can just about get dominos to deliver! I’m so desperate for the text now A lady had hers within 24hrs but nothing here yet 😭

That's good. I hope your DS gets better soon.

Good news!

We have reached a point where we are seriously advocating letting children go hungry because of the utterly hysterical fear that has been inflicted on us. For shame.

Send the fucking comet.

Nobody suggested that the children should go hungry, people suggested getting someone to drop off food. No need to be dramatic.

Letting children go hungry.Grin

It’s hardly a biblical famine, they had an online delivery coming this afternoon anyway. Grin

Anyway, good news OP.

Just to stress it is a valid excuse to be out of isolation:

to obtain basic necessities, such as food and medical supplies for those in the same household (including any pets or animals in the household) where it is not possible to obtain these provisions in any other manner

So assuming the "I'm rural" and "council have stopped" etc. then you would not be committing an offence to do it - not that you are anyway of course, but adding for other people who might now find themselves in similar situations as the support for people isolating is falling away.
