Am I seeing things? Me and daughter did lateral flow, hers is clearly negative, I can see a faint like. I've booked PCR tests but am I just seeing things?

Is this positive??

Thanks so much for the saturation changes, ex DH is finally taking me seriously 🙄🙄

I'm just really knackered, I'm okay though.

DD and I have done PCR's 🤞🤞 it comes back ok.

DD was supposed to be back at school tomorrow after her bubble burst so she is less than impressed.

Fingers crossed for you and your daughter that it’s a false alarm Flowers

Nootkah · 01/07/2021 13:48

Bith those photos are showing a line. Both are positive.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 01/07/2021 13:55
@Cornettoninja That's really illuminating, to use a very apt phrase! I wouldn't have thought twice about binning one in the original photos but your saturated version makes it really clear.
I would also have binned it if it looked like the original photo as I can't see even a hint of a faint line. I understand that the line can be faint, but there's faint but visible and there's so faint that a lot of people's eye just can't see it.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/07/2021 13:56

I can see a line in all the photos on this thread. Hopefully it’s a false alarm for you though OP.

ilovehalloumi · 01/07/2021 14:01

Thanks all, I'll update when I get PCR results

@MoiraNotRuby

I would definitely see that as negative and not give it a second thought, very impressed with the people who can see it before the colour adjustment. How old are you all, I'm 44 and wondering if this the start of aging eyes...

OP I hope you are ok and don't have any awful symptoms x

I agree, I can’t see a line. If that was mine I’d assume negative and carry on. Bloody hell, my eyesight must be terrible.
fatisnotafeeling · 01/07/2021 14:37

I can see a faint line too.

I don't trust these tests though at all, a parent at my DDs school did some experiments and evidently ketchup is a positive for corona virus.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 01/07/2021 14:42

I wear varifocals and everything else I look at seems visible, clear and focused, so no idea why I can't see the lines. I also can often not see the lines on pregnancy test photos. If they were mine I'd be reassured they were negative (old, perimenopausal and not wanting to be pregnant), carry on with my life, and then wonder why I was putting on weight a few months later.

paniniswapx3 · 01/07/2021 14:44

I can't see the lines either other than on the one @Cornettoninja manipulated the colour on!

hedgehogger1 · 01/07/2021 14:45

I can't see a line

Santastealer · 01/07/2021 14:46

I can see it on all images.

But then we had 2.5 years of ttc with unexplained infertility… I spent a long of time squinting at pregnancy tests looking for lines!

katie2812 · 01/07/2021 14:48

I can see a faint line BUT I ALWAYS see a faint line on mine when I put it at different angles in the light. I think it's where the line is meant to go if positive and pre prepared there. So I would just repeat it or do a PCR if you are worried but I always see a line like that on mine in different light

RhinestoneCowgirl · 01/07/2021 14:50

I can't see the line either, but Mumsnet is probably the best place on the internet for seasoned line eyes Grin

Hope you feel better soon OP, I'm also waiting for PCR result.

CrappyBirthday2Me · 01/07/2021 15:01

I can definitely see the line. Hope your'e ok, OP.

And from experience, no matter how much I anxiously tip and squint and hold to the light, none of our negatives have ever shown so much as a hint of a line.

chesirecat99 · 01/07/2021 15:37

I can see a line too. My DS had a very faint, barely perceptible line like that on 2 LFTs, even though he had COVID symptoms. It wasn't until day 3 that he got a strong line.

Hope you are okay.

Mymapuddlington · 01/07/2021 15:39

I can see a faint line and was tempted to say you’re only a couple of weeks pregnant as it’s faint but hope it turns out you’re ok

This makes me want to saturate an unused one now but I’m not due to do another till Sunday now!
Fiddlersgreen · 01/07/2021 15:45

I can see a faint line on the first pics.
Genius idea to play with the colours, it’s definitely there on that one.
My DS’s test was like this in the first few minutes and then by the end of the 30 mins it was a clear positive line (confirmed by PCR)

idontlikealdi · 01/07/2021 15:48

Oh god it's the new 'am I pregnant?'!! What have we come to.

Nothing against you op, at least if it was pregnancy test you'd have half a chance of guessing.

Hope the PCRs all come back negative!

2boysand1princess · 01/07/2021 16:48

That looks like the start of a positive. Hope you have minimal to no symptoms.
Have you been vaxxed?

ilovehalloumi · 01/07/2021 17:23

Yeah I have been double vaccinated.

Feel exhausted and bit of a sore throat, to be honest I'm run down and overworked so figured it was just that 🤷🏼‍♀️

wjg65ka · 01/07/2021 17:46

I see a faint line OP. I'm a nursing student and that was my test and I showed my ward manager I'd be asked to go get a PCR

Best of luck xx

floatingboater · 01/07/2021 18:06

I can't see anything, and as pp said, what's showing on that saturated photo looks like the shadow of the line that's meant to react?

2boysand1princess · 01/07/2021 18:13

If it’s covid positive then hopefully your symptoms will be very short lived. This new variant is spreading so fast though!
