Not having vaccine but being bombarded with calls

I’ve made an informed decision not to have the jab at the current time. I may change my mind at a later date, but that’s currently my decision.
I’m 32 and fairly low risk although I’m a little overweight.
I know I’d be given Pfizer, but I’ve read many things about it causing period changes. I have some real problems with my periods at the best of times and I don’t feel able to put myself through it. I’ve also read there’s a link between possible heart issues and the vaccine in young people.
I have lots of ongoing anxiety about my health and I know I’d be a mess after having it, so I just don’t want to put my mental health through that.
I’m pretty sure I had it back in March 2020 too.

Anyway, I’m getting constant phone calls from my GP and lots of letters/text messages, I’m ignoring them for now, but I’m not sure whether I should call them and tell them I don’t want to have it right now? Then hopefully they’ll leave me alone.

If you get the virus you'll have way more than period problems to deal with

Government message was 1 in 3 people don't even have symptoms. So I call bull on your comment.

What nonsense. Most people don't even know they've got it or feel mildly unwell.

Block and ignore

ElephantMoth · 02/07/2021 01:21

@wasthataburp

Where do you live? Here in Scotland we just phone up and opt out and no one bothers you again
Oh believe me even when you have told them you still receive the letters!

There's no one on this thread who won't know that's absolute rubbish. I mean, why bother? 😂

I'm regards to the op, just answer the phone and decline them. I called and told them I was declining and the calls did then stop.

Unfortunately for me I did get a very excitable 20 something who tried their best to coerce me into it and spewed out a number of completely baseless 'facts'...but I did get the message across and haven't heared a thing since.

ElephantMoth · 02/07/2021 01:25

@KimmyAndMe

Shame on your GP doing his job to keep people alive 🙄

Have you informed people you intend meeting up with that you have chosen not to take the vaccination devised to protect them?

Well if only they did see you know actual patients who need to be seen 🤷🏻‍♀️

Everyone I know, except for dh, has been told I'm double jabbed.

I think the aggressive posts on this thread perfect illustrate why. I feel precisely zero guilt for that.

Mary1Mary · 02/07/2021 01:31

I don't believe doctors are arranging an operation every 2 months knowing that the wards are closed.

This is completely unacceptable. Many people believe they are speaking with a qualified nurse or doctor from the NHS and they are not. This is a growing problem for elderly people and many old confused folk think they don't have a choice and are frightened by these calls.

If you are comfortable with your decision why are you lying?
alloalloallo · 02/07/2021 09:39

I keep getting letters and texts - a letter and a text every day for the last week or so.

I’ve actually had both my jabs, I had it through my GP as I needed to have the Pfizer jab rather than AZ due to some weird blood issues.

I’m not sure how or where to update the information - there’s only a link to the online booking site, or to call 119 to book - I did try but ended up on hold and gave up.

110APiccadilly · 02/07/2021 09:49

I emailed to say not at the moment (don't want it while breastfeeding) and just got an acknowledgement of that, I've not been hassled at all. Strange how it's clearly very variable between areas.

CityCommuter · 02/07/2021 11:05

@Wimpund21 so you've confirmed on here that you openly lie to 'everyone you know' except your DH that you've been double jabbed when you haven't had even one vaccination!

SHAME ON YOU for putting other people's lives at risk!

Sadly according to the papers yesterday a lot of people are now lying about being vaccinated...

Contact your GP, they perhaps have not correctly updated your jabs on the system. Otherwise maybe you're somehow registered twice, which would be odd.

Its so different where I live, people are crying out for a vaccine and we have one of the highest take ups in the world, we had a slow initial roll out. Just goes to show, if they were in short supply in the UK people would be crawling over themselves for it. It seems it being readily available hasn't helped with the take up. I mean i haven't heard or met one person here who hasn't taken it. We are not even to the 40 year olds yet

NakedAttraction · 02/07/2021 11:55

I think it is sometimes taking a little while for some updates to filter through the nhs system when vaccines have been taken outside a standard process. I know a few people who were on the novovax trial who still get letters but have told their GPs. It’s a massive programme, it’s not all going to run super smooth.

The vaccine uptake in the UK is very high! You get a few who don't take it, and many of them are very vocal about it.

It will be interesting when vaccinations are offered to all, what the final percentages are worldwide but I suspect UK will be very high in that league table.

MrsLCSofLichfield · 02/07/2021 15:45

Man alive, talk about first world problems!

NakedAttraction · 02/07/2021 20:11

@Wakeupin2022 it varies massively between areas though, London being particularly low.
