So many of you on here have said my anxiety won’t just end, and for weeks I’ve told myself it will.
It will end once I’ve got my second jab.

Well you were all right. It’s not just going to end. It’s going to find something else to worry about.

So last night it was approved for me to have my second jab as Pfizer (following first dose of AZ)

I felt so relieved and happy. But tonight, that nagging anxious voice, the doubt, it’s getting to me.

I’m starting to panic now about it not being safe to mix vaccine doses.
Is it going to cause me long term side effects.
I’m telling myself it’s not a good idea and it’s better to just stay partially vaccinated with 1Az

I’ve got my appointment tomorrow morning and I really want to go.

I don’t want to have my second AZ so my option is 2nd one as Pfizer or stay as one vaccine.

I’m worrying that mixing vaccines won’t mean I’m fully vaccinated.
Does it mean I don’t have as much protection.
Will I not be able to travel?

FML 😭

Out if all the advice given that the only thing you have to say? People are trying to help you, we understand you are so deep in to this that to you cannot see rational thought, please listen and you will start to recover.

Op, it’s just you sound really like another poster who keeps posting repeated threads and was suffering from severe mental illness. They were also convinced they would die from Covid or a blood clot.

@Shapesorted

I am listening.

I am under secondary mental health care now.

I work in an office (have done through out) and with the increase in cases I want to be fully vaccinated.

I’m worried about mixing vaccines.

I can’t put this off any longer. I was only looking for some advice.

Well I don’t think I’m the only person to have been worried about AZ / blood clots. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you are in Berkshire and have no one to go with you, I would be happy to accompany you to the appointment.

Bluntness100 · 21/06/2021 21:21

Good luck op, I hope you have the vaccine and can eventually start to recover. 💐

Wolfiefan · 21/06/2021 21:22

No advice you get here will help Op. it’ll just feed the anxiety. You need to stop.

Thank you. Flowers I’m not.

My husband is coming with me.

I feel okay about having the vaccine. I’m just worried about the effects of mixing doses.

All over Europe, people are mixing vaccines after having one dose of AZ.

Go for your appt. Take the Pfizer jab.

You may worry for three weeks but OP it sounds like you will worry even if you don’t take it.
I have refused my second AZ vaccine and if I was offered Pfizer, I’d jump at the chance!

I will have the vaccine. I have to have it.

I’m just anxious about mixing that’s all.

Yes I saw that. The Dr at the hospital told me the same thing too.

With the best intentions OP from someone who suffers with anxiety please count yourself extremely lucky that you’ve even been given the choice to mix your vaccines - the majority of us have had absolutely no choice but AZ (I’d have preferred another vaccine type but the option was not available & I'm absolutely fine as is everyone else I know who’s had 2 x AZ). Please get your second dose of your chosen vaccine

idontlikealdi · 21/06/2021 21:34

Your anxiety is extrapolating and this isn't helping. You really need to get more help than you already are.

Hax · 21/06/2021 21:40

Loubi
Get off MN. It's not helping you and it will get worse.

Get up in the morning and get your pfizer. You will then be better protected than all the rest of us who had two doses of what we were given.

Bryonyshcmyony · 21/06/2021 21:47

Oh stop it. I'm quite annoyed you've even been given the option. Think yourself lucky. You've got what you wanted, a Pfizer dose. Plenty of people would have liked the same. Sorry, I'll leave the thread, this is making me too cross.

You’re not anxious about mixing.
You’re anxious.
This isn’t about a vaccine. It’s about your MH.

thecatfromjapan · 21/06/2021 21:53

@picklemewalnuts

Well done, Louby.

Good mental health is hard work. You have to constantly check yourself- it's a bit like dieting. You have to choose to step away from a negative thought pattern- repeatedly.

So what you need to do this evening is accept that you have made a decision re the vax- maybe write down 'at x o'clock tomorrow I am having vax. That's a really good thing'. Then you need to do something else- go for a run, bake a cake, read a book... something, anything, to distract you from thinking about the vax.

And that's how it is all the time, a conscious decision to stop the negative thought and fill your brain with something else.

This is such a sensible post.

thecatfromjapan · 21/06/2021 21:54

@Wolfiefan

Things you could do: Mindfulness Exercise Take a walk outside Start a hobby or continue with one you enjoy Try a colouring book Read or audiobook Some self care. Nails? Clean a part of the house that’s been neglected. (Yes kitchen drawer of doom I’m looking at you!!!) Re watch a favourite series Research for a future holiday Train to improve job prospects Basically anything and everything apart from obsessing over the thing you’re mucous about OP.

And great suggestions here, too.

Good luck, Louby.

Anxiety is awful - but you are going to work on it, get on top of it, and get your life back. 💐
