To those who had bad side effects from first AZ jab, how did you react to the second dose?

I'm sure it must have been asked before, so apologies. I had a terrible reaction to my first vaccine. I couldn't get out of bed for shivering for 2 days, despite taking paracetamol. I just had my second jab this morning, and selfishly worrying if this will affect my dinner plans tonight . Interested in experiences of others.

I had the shivery response and took to my bed for a day with the first. Second very little effect if any. A bit more tired than usual I would say.

I'm afraid I was also ill after the second but not quite so bad. I'd consider taking paracetamol before going out for dinner.

This is a very reassuring thread as dh has his second this week and is a bit worried

1st - massive headache gradually reducing over a period of a few days. First 24 hrs - incapable of normal working day but I deliberately had the jab on Friday in order to recover over the weekend which was needed!

2nd - “Normal” headache for a day but able to function completely normally. Slightly Sore arm.

Generally, I’m not prone to having any headaches at all so any is out of the norm for me.

My DM:

1st vaccine - flu like symptoms.

2nd vaccine - flu like symptoms and vomiting.

I had flu like symptoms after my 1st, I'm off for my 2nd today and hoping that I'm OK.

Friend had az and felt like she was having. Heart attack
Was a whisker away from calling an ambulance
She cancelled the second one , then caved and took it
Same happened again and is still passing blood from rectum, although I don’t think there’s as many clots now.
She told me this morning she bitterly regrets having it and is more worried about her mum, whose symptoms seem more ascerbated

I was wiped out for nearly 2 weeks with the first one. Second one just a day. Thank god!

Wiped out for a week after first. One hot flush about twelve hours after second, and a sore arm.

My first I was unbelievably unwell (1000 times worse than I was with covid).

My second, nothing. Barely a sore arm for a couple of days

@shewalkslikerihanna did I read that right? She's shitting blood clots and hasn't sought medical advice? Why??

Anyway, glad you started the thread OP. I've got my second this week, the day before a big BBQ. I've been trying to reschedule to be on the safe side, but can't get through.

First vac, shocking the day after, like I had covid again. Second jab, little bit tired a couple of hours later, but put this down to 4 hours sleep the previous night, so probably nothing!

First jab: bad effects like yours
Second jab: not as bad but I couldn’t go out. I did put a load of washing on, very minor stuff but basically the day after the jab was a write off

Sore arm and probably just as bad, aches, xhivers, headache.. Teary etc.

This was exactly me also.

Felt terrible for about 5 days after 1st jab.

Swollen joints and tiredness after 2nd jab, but was fine after about 36 hours.

I had a slight reaction to my first dose - a bit of a temperature and shivering later that evening. I took paracetamol and went to bed, Woke up a few hours later ok. I did feel a bit washed out for a couple of days afterwards.

I had my second dose on wednesday of this week (its sunday now) and so far no reaction. On the other hand I did have a very painful pulled muscle in my knee which has improved considerably in the last 3 days. Dont know if there is any connection!

Bed bound and a day off work for my first, didn’t even have a sore arm from my second!!

Why I couldn’t have had milder effects from both, I don’t know… 😂

Ill after the first, nothing after the second, not even a sore arm.

Lost 3 days after the 1st one- worst migraine I've ever had, sweating, shivering, then so exhausted for a week. I was so scared to get the second one but had nothing whatsoever apart from a sore arm for a couple of days and slightly tired for a few days.

Flu like symptoms from fiirst only a slightly sore arm from the second.

Terrible shakes and chills for hours and a v sore arm that lasted for days after my first one.

Nothing whatsoever after my second.

Just very tired after the second.

First one - felt very jet laggy the day after - this was exacerbated by DH waking me up in the middle of the night to tell me he was feverish.
Second one - was slightly under par for a couple of days, say 80-90% of normal me

DH and I both had a sleepless night, aching, shivering and dosed up on paracetamol after the first.

Second, nothing apart from a bruise on my arm, which I still have 2 weeks later.

Felt very crap after first one, like flu with chills and headache.
Just sore arm after second, no problem at all.
