I'd like to know that too. It's nearly 3 years since I've seen my mum.

cantkeepawayforever · 14/06/2021 20:57

Was is going to resume after 21/06? If not, then no, unless the international situation changes markedly.

ColettesEarrings · 14/06/2021 20:59

International travel was never part of the domestic road map, and opening up didn't include it. It's a separate part really, possibly I don't think it will change on 19th, and even if UK showed travel our, who knows which countries might choose to accept British travellers - we can't force them to.

Tealightsandd · 14/06/2021 21:01

Likely a lot depends on who will let us in.

We are now the high risk country that others including France, Germany, and America are restricting entry from.

rosie1959 · 14/06/2021 21:05

No I seem to remember him answering that question the traffic light system will continue

AnyFucker · 14/06/2021 21:08

No

Postdatedpandemic · 14/06/2021 21:08

What restrictions have the country your family live in put on Brits travelling there?

Watapalava · 14/06/2021 21:09

Non essential travel is allowed now

Petitefiloute · 14/06/2021 21:10

Review is every 3 weeks, the previous one was announced on 4th and effective on 7th, I expect the next review to be announced end of next week and effective the 28th.

edgeware · 14/06/2021 21:15

You can go now. Testing and quarantine yes but you don’t need a reason.

thecatsatonthewall · 14/06/2021 21:17

Not a chance.
Be lucky if its next June.

Not a single EU country on the Green list despite lower cases than UK & with eu-uk relations shit, Johnson won't be adding any.

Thewiseoneincognito · 14/06/2021 21:33

International travel is a whole other ball game OP. You can go now just follow the quarantine rules?

EasterIssland · 14/06/2021 21:36

Non essential travel is allowed. I’m flying next month to an amber country to see my family. It really depends on the situation on the country where you’re flying to what will happen when you fly back ( amount of pcrs and self isolation) rather than what happens in this country. We could have finished lockdown on the 21st of June but still non essential travel been not advised and have to self isolate on return

You’ve to remember it’s guidance and not law. Hence if you want to travel and see your family and there is a plane that will take you there nobody is banning you to fly there

Not 100% true. France allows anyone from the Uk to travel if fully vaccinated. Germany is opening up to those whose incidence is below 200 cases. Many other countries are opened to the British with no restrictions or just a pcr

It doesn't mean you can't go. You don't need a compelling reason to travel to most EU countries now provided you have had your 2nd jab more than 2 weeks prior. You need to take day 2 and 8 tests and self isolate for 10 days on return, or test on day 5 too to release then. If you're prepare to do this, you can go.
thecatsatonthewall · 14/06/2021 21:39

That maybe so but unless your wealthy, the PCR tests and loss of earning for isolation make foreign travel an impossibility for many.

Maybe thats what they want? helps the UK met its CO2 targets.

Flapflap1974 · 14/06/2021 21:42

I’m self-employed, can’t really afford to quarantine in and out plus multiple pcr tests

oystercatcher44 · 14/06/2021 21:45

You just have to bite the bullet and go - because if you wait until restrictions are lifted are both ends, you will wait forever.

I can see no logical reason for many European countries being on the amber list. Very low case numbers (eg Germany 7 day incidence of 16.6, total of 13790 cases in the last week), no delta variant - so why do people flying into UK have to pay an extra £300 in tests. Where is the data to support the amber listings?

EasterIssland · 14/06/2021 21:45

Then you’ll need to travel to a green country or wait for more to be added. But this has nothing to do with J21 or J19
Flapflap1974 · 14/06/2021 22:05

My family are in France, it’s amber list. Nightmare

I thought France was restricting entry from high risks countries - including the UK? Essential travel only like import and export lorries.
EasterIssland · 14/06/2021 22:46

@Tealightsandd it’s now changed
People who are fully vaccinated can travel there without giving a reason, and without having to quarantine.

Those who are not fully vaccinated are only be permitted to travel for essential reasons, and must self-isolate for seven days after arrival.

EasterIssland · 14/06/2021 22:47

To add entry to France needs a pcr (even if fully vaccinated)

Tealightsandd · 14/06/2021 22:48

Ah sorry I didn't realise Easter
I know America is still barring high risk countries like the UK.

Is Germany still restricting entry or is it now the same as France?

TurquoiseDress · 14/06/2021 23:10

I think if you're planning to take a flight, you'll obviously need to ensure they haven't been cancelled.

Was checking the Easyjet app a few days ago, and noticed many flights to destinations in France are not available til mid July!
