Support group post second dose of AZ vaccine

Ok, I thought it would be good to have a support group for those of us who have decided to have second AZ vaccine. I had mine yesterday, didn’t really want it, but everyone I know is so blaze about blood clots I feel like right hypochondriac. I suffer with anxiety and health anxiety was my big issue even before COVID and vaccines. I have only just started relaxing after I passed 4 weeks post my first vaccine and am now on watch for symptoms again! Don’t know how I’m going to get through the next few weeks. If you are like me please join and share your thoughts!

Day 7 for me, and I've had a headache since about day 3. Actually getting worried now. It's a pressure headache with stabbing pains in different areas. Currently bad pain above one eye. Paracetamol has helped a bit over the past fews days, but pain comes back. It's not a severe headache in that I've been up and about (but grumpy and feeling rough).

@BlackInk sorry ur feeling so rough! Will you get it checked out?

Day 19 here. Still more tired than normal, sleeping much more heavily at night and very tired in the evenings.
Does the clot risk lessen with every passing day, once you get past the 12 day mark, or does it remain as risky for the whole month ?

@SirVixofVixHall here are the tweets from Prof Makris and the studies he shared. Id surmise the risk lowers as you pass the peak of day 10-14 as this is the median time for hospital admission on one of the studies.

I am on HRT so wondered if that slightly increased the risk but that suggests not.
I am trying not to think about it , but there is still the niggling worry.

Headache still hanging around (day 10 post vaccine) and I've woken up with pain around my left shoulder blade that worsens when I breathe in. I'm pretty sure it's nothing but forced myself to book a telephone appointment with GP – now got an appointment for a check-up/blood tests but am worried I'm wasting their time!

I had my second one on Friday felt a bit lethargic on Saturday then got a bit of a temperature so took some paracetamol and had an early night, felt fine since

My arm is still really sore (day 11) which is bugging me, it was sore for 2 days last time. Can’t wait to get through this week.

Just checking in. I’m day 12 post second dose and so far so good although I keep thinking about critical 10-14 days for blood clots. I don’t know how I’m ever going to relax 🙄

Day 9, anxiety has lessened a lot since I had it. Fingers crossed for us all 🤞.

She won’t be having the 2nd now

Day 2 post 2nd here. First one I felt terrible and was really anxious about the clot issue. I feel fine after this one bar a slightly tender arm. I'm still wishing the days away to get beyond day 14 though.

Had mine Monday, had a headache since.

Waiting to see a neurologist anyway about nerve pain headaches I’m getting, poss trigeminal neuralgia but these headaches are different - I feel like my head is in a vice.

At what point when they don’t go away do you think about getting it checked out?

I had the second AZ dose last Friday and haven't noticed any side effects. After the first one I had a week of headaches, but I get a lot of headaches anyway, so wasn't sure if it was related or not.

Oh and my arm was much more sore after the first one.

Thanks @shazzz1xx GP did some blood tests checking for clots and came back all ok this morning. Shoulder pain still the same and had a very uncomfortable night, but guess it must be a muscle/nerve. Headache finally lifted a bit this morning for the first time in 10 days!

I'm on day 12 and have an annoying headache. Am also really stressed at work so could just be that. Wish it would stop though

Had my second yesterday. Only got a sore arm so happy with that so far.

Day 14 post second AZ. My anxiety about clots has totally gone now and technically I am still in the danger zone.

When are we passed the increased risk?

The risk zone is 4 days to 4 weeks post vaccination but with most clots occurring between days 4-14.

Another day 15 here, not negating the terrible anxiety Ive suffered, but it feels so good to be past the worst of it and be fully vaccinated.
