New rules for Manchester and Lancashire but not Blackpool

Sadless · 08/06/2021 13:55

The new rules are advising to not go into people's house and more testing. Does that mean we are in a lockdown as such again and why is blackpool not in it. When they are getting similar high cases as other parts in Lancashire.

There are no "new rules", there may be new guidance.

ferneytorro · 08/06/2021 14:29

Not commenting on the guidance at all but I remember his last time and it’s because Blackpool is a separate administrative are apparently and therefore doesn’t automatically fall in with what Lancashire does in relation to rules/guidance.

Hardtoknowwhat · 08/06/2021 14:53

What@ferneytorro said.

Also, it's unfortunate that Fylde and Wyre are included as their rates are lower than Blackpool. As a whole however, the Fylde Coast (including Blackpool) have significantly lower cars than other Lancashire regions.

Hardtoknowwhat · 08/06/2021 14:54

*lower cases

You can see the direction of travel over the last few weeks.

Bit late, everyone did their travelling in and out of the area last week for half term.

PotassiumChloride · 08/06/2021 16:36

It’s advice, not rules.

newnortherner111 · 08/06/2021 17:10

Both Blackpool MPs are Conservatives. Which of course I could not comment upon whether this has any bearing.

LadyCatStark · 08/06/2021 17:47

Blackpool have their own council but they can fuck right off if they think I’m doing this. Cases are lower than the National average in my area!

Is it not just advice? Therefore, no requirement to comply.

LadyCatStark · 08/06/2021 18:08

@Sadless yes but they have their own council that make their own decisions. Lancashire County Council have always been very cautious throughout the pandemic. It’s not fair but it’s not Blackpool’s fault.

LadyCatStark · 08/06/2021 18:10

PS that picture has your postcode on so y

LadyCatStark · 08/06/2021 18:12

Sorry posted too soon but you get the jist!

Sirzy · 08/06/2021 18:14

I am in Lancashire in an area where the cases are lower than national average. I have been very cautious throughout and I am still following all of the rules for the national rules but I am not changing my behaviour now based on the numbers for the local area not the whole county!

Watapalava · 08/06/2021 18:16

I’m lancs and I won’t follow any rules

My local hospital hasn’t had a covid admittance for months

Sadless · 08/06/2021 18:23

How do I get rid of that.

www.lancs.live/news/lancashire-news/lancashire-residents-braced-travel-ban-20764366

Here. This resident isn’t ‘braced’ for anything, especially not a travel ban. I have gone far beyond all the guidance and advice throughout all this, plus successfully avoiding Covid working in an unsafe school. Fuck taking the rap for everyone else not taking it seriously. Fuck that for a game of soldiers.

GlitterBombing · 08/06/2021 18:52

I'm in greater M/cr too and hadn't heard anything about this.

GlitterBombing · 08/06/2021 19:02

Actually, it's just been on R4 news.
