New rules for Manchester and Lancashire but not Blackpool

The new rules are advising to not go into people's house and more testing. Does that mean we are in a lockdown as such again and why is blackpool not in it. When they are getting similar high cases as other parts in Lancashire.

@AnyFucker

Since when ? I am in Gtr Manchester and none of this has been communicated locally.
I've been getting MEN pings on this all day.
Kazzyhoward · 08/06/2021 19:06

And, as last time, North Lancashire (Lancaster/Morecambe) are suffering the new restrictions/guidance despite case numbers being a lot lower due to being so far away from the hot spots and "protected" by a lot of fields/hill/farmland. It's absolutely crazy to use county council/unitary authority borders when there's so much fluctuation within them.

JaceLancs · 08/06/2021 19:10

I’m in very low cases area of Lancashire and will be ignoring any ‘guidance’ until it becomes a rule or law
I’m already having to draw up new working guidelines for my staff yet again after announcement at lunchtime - cancel some work meetings etc
It’s not going to affect my non work life too!
Nearly everyone I know including my 28 and 29 year old DC have been vaccinated and we are still being restricted - I’m failing to see the point - spiralling into depression (again) and would be far worse if the sun wasn’t shining
I feel more gin n chocolate may help here tonight

They going to close the pubs and cafes for inside trade, then? If not, they can fuck right off. There’s 2 had to close near me because their staff have tested positive. It’s spreading in places like that and in schools. Close them and I’ll curtail my freedom again. If not, no way.

AnyFucker · 08/06/2021 19:23

Haven’t heard it. Haven’t seen it. Will be ignoring it.

The government should be making this law and doing the same for all other Delta hotspots.

But they seem to like making the North suffer by themselves.

Frazzled2207 · 08/06/2021 19:41

I’m in GM. I will continue being sensible,
in line with what the rules are for the rest of the country.

If the government had done a decent job of trying to keep the Indian variant out of the country I would be more likely to listen.

Anyway it’s guidance not rules. And a bit pointless now AFTER half term and now cases have been allowed to get sky high.

Well they’re not, so 🤷‍♀️ I am all out of fucks for these half-arsed measures that just keep aiding the spread. If there’s a cash register or childcare then you can go in and help Covid get around the place. If there isn’t then vague, spooky Guidance hangs permanently over some areas.

I'm in Lancashire in a new hotspot. Three out of four of us in this house currently have Covid, including DH who is double vaccinated with AZ.
Once our umpteenth ten day self isolation period is over this week, my 18 and 16 year old will be resuming life as before.

Where do you think you all got it?

College, work, community etc?

cptartapp · 09/06/2021 20:52

Probably from DS who is 18, unvaccinated, has a pt job where many customers don't wear masks properly and has a busy social life with several other unvaccinated teens.
I work in ppe and tested positive for antibodies previously, DH works from home.

GoofyIsACow · 09/06/2021 20:58

We are on the lancashire/cumbria border, cases virtually nonexistent here but we’re still in Lancashire so...
We are being very sensible as a family, enjoying going about our lives in a much less people-y way but we’re in the hospitality business so bracing ourselves!
