Pfizer vaccine questions

Babyfg · 05/06/2021 18:36

Hi. I was just wondering what symptoms people have had after their first and second jab?

I've been called up for mine and am assuming it will be Pfizer as I'm under 40 and just want to prepare myself. I have three under 5 so need a plan just in case!

Also has anyone got the vaccine while breastfeeding? Is it recommended? Did it affect baby?

Sorry for all the questions but tia ❤️

@Babyfg there is no mechanism for anything from the vaccine to pass into your breastmilk. The only thing that early evidence suggests might pass into your milk is antibodies once your immune system has produced them. So a good thing really.

Had my first 48 hours ago. Had a mildly sore arm for a few hours and probably unrelated, but felt very thirsty. Extremely lethargic all yesterday and most of today, but tonight I feel normal with resumed energy, apart from the odd tingling feeling I keep getting in my feet. I'm 51.

Other than a bit of a sore arm I was fine with first.

With my second I felt off for three days and had a lump on my arm for a month.

It tends to be (with people I know) the second dose with pfizer and the first dose with AZ that causes the reaction, but usually only for about 12 hours.

Thank you everyone. It's really reassuring to hear that getting a vaccine while breastfeeding is safe and might pass on the antibodies. And most of the side effects don't seem to be near the scale I've heard from friends about the az vaccine which most of them have had.

I have no luck so I'm sure I'll be the one to feel ill for a week but if I'm bad I'll just have to call my husband home from work although we're pretty sure, as a household, we haven't had COVID., unless we were all asymptotic. Hopefully that will work in my favour!

Thank you all for sharing your experiences, i hope if you were affected badly that you are now on the mend.

Dose one, aching arm for around 24 hours, dose two tired, mild fluey symptoms for a couple of days .

A couple of people I know felt a bit under the weather after first jab, and a couple felt fine after both .

We are age 40s/50s, has early vaccine due to our jobs .

I had the Pfizer vaccination just over a week ago. I was worried as I have a 3yr old, a 21 month old and a 3 week old newborn. Thankfully all I had was a sore arm for 2 days and a slight headache for 2 days. But nothing a bit of paracetamol didn't fix.

Had my first one today. After the injection they made me wait 15 minutes before I could leave (I was alone with DD and driving). No issues straight after the injection, I went shopping, cleaned the house and done the washing while looking after DD (single parent). During the day I started to get a pain at the top of my arm, the injection site, then my arm started to feel a bit numb. So far I have had no other side effects compared to people I know who had the AZ

wishawish91 · 05/06/2021 23:23

I had mine a few days ago, I'm 30.

I just had a dead arm for a couple of days and that was it!

Good luck x

day 4 to 6 intense nausea and sleepiness

Onceuponatime1818 · 06/06/2021 07:48

Majorly sore arm day 2 but luckily nothing else bad…yet!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/06/2021 08:41

Had my first Pfizer jab 8 days ago, absolutely zero side effects apart from a sore arm for a day after.

MilduraS · 06/06/2021 08:41

I was fine the day I had it. Then woke up with a sore arm the next morning that hung around for two days.

Percivalthebabyspider · 06/06/2021 14:31

Very sore arm for 2 days, slight headache and I’m still very tired but the worst is the joint pain, particularly in my knees and elbows.

LakieLady · 06/06/2021 22:40

I had my Pfizer jabs on Jan 21st and March 17th.

My arm was sore around the injection site for a few hours after them both.

The day after the first one, I felt as though I was coming down with a cold, but only for a few hours.

My 82yo MIL only had a sore arm after her first, and no issues at all after her 2nd. She's plainly made of sterner stuff than me!

Onceuponatime1818 · 07/06/2021 07:02

Day 3, arm back to normal!
