How much longer do you think covid and restrictions will go on for?

I don't think restrictions will be lifted in 21st June. I don't think things will go back to something resembling normality until next year.

I am still being careful and feel very isolated working from home and not really socialising.
@Tealightsandd also why is adding vietnam pointless if as you claim a new variant has been seen as there actually doing what should of been done with india etc, just because we can't go there if we don't have on red list then they could still come here
I suppose they could still come here but only if they were emigrating or planning to stay a very long time. With their borders shut, they wouldn't be able to go home. I'm not sure if they're like Australia and not allowed to leave without very good reason but even if not, they won't get out that easily. With only diplomats and very limited other circumstances allowed in, there's unlikely to be flights out.

The variant they found is a hybrid of the Indian and UK strain. Must've leaked from a quarantine.

We are the risk to them.

I think that is a interesting way to look at it though as a we are. Rather than the closed borders means that they are safe within but at risk from any COVID coming in from the outside.

The fact though that they are the only ones with the variant as well is interesting - I dont think it is hybrid more the Delta variant with a mutation also found on Alpha

Covid cases are rising. I don't think all restrictions will be dropped by 21st June. I don't think things will go back to normal till early next year.

@Tealightsandd

"I don't know if every EU country is ahead of the UK but if France has enough supplies to open to everyone over 18, and Germany is able to start over 12s from June (so presumably tomorrow), I assume they're getting there.

Remember they're mainly using Pfizer and giving the second dose with a shorter gap than here. Fully vaccinated is what matters. One dose is only 33% effective."

Not borne out by the accompanying image. Certainly not France or Germany.
And this refers to total population, not just adults.
